I think I remember the name “Norwood” but I could be getting confused with a district of Killamarsh (also in Derbyshire).

I think we need an aggressive tackler in the midfield who can control the pace of the game a bit. We’ve only got one tackler and that’s Fleck. So if Norwood the Nog is one of them then I will call him “a legend” before he even signs for us and I’ll find all the best clips of him on YouTube and post them here. A la “Florent Cuvelier” - another YouTube legend of a midfielder.

No it’s not obvious. Not when our manager has stated before that he’s looking to sign players that are better than what we have and who can compete at a higher level.

If you are confusing me with a person of low intelligence I think you may be wrong btw - I thought that was bleeding obvious as well but there we go. ;)

What we are is a Championship mid table side. What we aspire to be is a playoff contender at least.

Norwood last season played the vast majority of games for a team that got promoted. And played extremely well.

This is a fantastic signing if it happens.

Well let me tell you where it is then pal even though I don’t live there. If you go straight through Killamarsh centre and carry on up the hill (not Bridge Street) heading towards the White City estate, you turn left (I think it’s called Rotherham Road) it is the road that takes you towards Rother Valley and Wales/Kiveton. That area is called “Norwood”.

Are you one of the Sheffield overspill that originally crossed the border to live in Derbyshire because of cheaper house rates and later pub opening times per chance?

Err no we’re not. We are (based on last season - which is the only meaningful measure we have of our Championship capability), a Championship top 10 side. That’s not “mid table”.

I agree we should aspire to be play off contenders at least.

I didn’t realise you had taken such a deep interest in this guy Norwood? I think I’m reasonably knowledgeable about football but I know nothing much about him and the main response I seem to be getting are inferring that I’m stupid for not knowing about him rather than trying to educate me on why he is so good? Which is all I’m asking?

It’s almost like some folk who are near to ejaculation with excitement about this signing can’t actually explain why - which concerns me, that’s all. ;)

How can 10th not be mid table when there are 24 teams
Do you actually have to be in the middle of the table in 12th and every one else is top or bottom ?

Clever footballer who will move the ball quickly and incisively. Can do the anchor role as well. Decent set piece taker.

Had two goes at the playoffs with Reading and part of two successive promotion seasons (Brighton then Fulham).

At £2.5m he’s a good bit of business and a big upgrade on Lunny & Evans.

Though to be fair, I thought Evans was decent when he first arrived and just got worse. As if he lost confidence of the pressure was too much for him to be brave and take risks.
Norwood has played this level before and succeeded so shouldn’t be the same issues as Evans.

Let’s hope we manage to get his over the line, though by all accounts we already have.
Though I guess he’ll benliving in the hotel for a while which isn’t ideal.
Is he a southern lad? Hope he can get settled up here quickly.
