Pigs ban Radio Sheffield

Some years ago, when I only read this forum, and didn't post, I used to write up a match report, for lads who could no longer attend games because of ill health, and post it on "Sheffield Forum". I did it because our games were not always on the radio, live, and these lads (blokes, old men) were literally on life support, I don't think any of them are left with us now, but I know that they were grateful. I cannot believe that a club would deny elderly, disabled, dying football fans the chance to at least listen to a game of football?

Many of you know (on here) know that it was my Grandad who instilled a love of the Blades in me, took me to my first matches as a kid, reserve games at first, get used to a crowd, get used to the noise, etc. Every time I walk into BDTBL I think of him. The old lad died aged 91, a "good innings" in anyone's book, but in his final years, it was the radio, and me going to see him, that kept him updated in his beloved Sheffield United.

I don't want to get into this particular argument, but does anyone honestly think that Kevin McCabe would pull such a stunt?

I don't think McCabe would pull such a stunt but the Prince ...... well that's another matter.

I hope they have to watch their club die, and I hope it hurts them the entire time it's happening.

Sheffield Is Red.

You have a wonderful way with words, you actually made me laugh my bollocks off and I could not agree with you more.

The best thing is some of the fucking idiots are defending Chansiri. Magnificent display of denial from a large section of thier fan base.

I wholeheartedly believe Chansiri will bring about the destruction of SWFC. Fantastic.

Uncle Albert had been an fowl for over 70 years , now house bound he tries to tune into the Wendy match at Wigan
" Where's that bloody radio show "
Because they care !

What's funny about this is how much they've laughed at us in recent years, that they have a rich owner, and that all we have is 'pashun' and run on a shoestring.

It's so shortsighted it's unbelievable.

'Pashun', or to put it properly - passion, is absolutely worth something. It's what prevents exactly this kind of shitty situation from happening.

You know, the owner/ manager actually giving a shit about the fans, yeah, that's not useful is it?

I don't think this is about the money with that Narcissistic fucktard I think it's because it's called radio "Sheffield" rather than Chansisri like their shirts seats and side advertising boards. The pigs will probably cheer him on if he wants to do a Dull city and change their name to Chansiri. Hopefully he will have run them into the ground and liquidation by then.

Slightly annoying to see these sympathetic comments. For every sound Wednesdayite who you’re close mates with there’s 10 deluded fucknuts that really define the word scum.

Where was their sympathy over the Tevez affair, where was their sympathy for Ched’s false accusations, where was their sympathy for our recent boardroom troubles?

I’m laughing at them now, and if it ever came to a point where their club was running to the ground I’d laugh even more. They really are rotten to the core and deserve everything they get.

I have sympathy with off the field affairs. Wouldn't expect the other side to sympathy with Ched or Tevez. In the same way that I have no sympathy for Forrestieri accusation.

That said, I fucking love that video. Proper tickled me.

I’m certain the internet savvy will still get to listen for free by cunning means. I’m equally certain that the majority of those who rely on their wireless or crystal set will have no chance, and they’re the most deserving.

I really do feel for those who are unable to connect with "their club" *vomits* in any other way...The old, housebound etc

But more than that I am pleased that the disgusting Chancer is totally oblivious to that - the wireless does link clubs and tier communities.

Oi! I still am! :D

Well said, G. But I bet enough pigs had to chip in to your reports as Sheffield Forum is infested with them.

Here's a thought, if the BBC demanded an extra fee to listen to live away match commentaries, the reaction would be 'Fuck off! I've already paid for my licence!' and rightly so. But it's only Wednesday out of the whole country who are doing it - an extra fee to listen to 'Radio Ga-Ga/Chansiri' - and this is all of Wednesday's making. It - and Wednesday - are a bluddy disgraaace!

Perhaps someone should ask the question....why are the bbc asking for a 10% reduction ?. Yet the tv license fee keeps increasing.

I think the problem is that the BBC don’t have any real competition to the local radio commentary rights so they can get away with offering a 10% reduction.

I personally don’t listen to Radio Sheffield other than for football and the quality of that is getting worse and worse in my opinion.

I wouldn’t be too bothered if the BBC completely scraped all local radio.

Must be the BBC cuts haha...they must have got rid of the person operating the swear filter.
No doubt tonight or Monday they'll announce an apology and get a bagfull of outraged Wendy fans to boost listening figures.

No Radio, no transfers now and no chuffing money you cannot make this up, could be a few years they were saying on radio under the embargo, if only carlsberg did perfect satdis, the comedy club that just keeps on giving......:D:D:D

But is crazy bbc asked if local radio could have a 10% discount 91 of 92 football league teams said yes scrooge chansiri said no. If hes not careful he'll be more unpopular than mike Ashley

How much are they paying as ive no idea but no where near sky money. Must be 100k at most. So really your going stop all fans having live coverage for 10 grand
