Can’t argue with that other than I thought he’d been released?

My point is that how can someone who hasn’t kicked a ball for some time be an improvement on someone like Donaldson who has?

It’s not as bad as you think

Donaldson 2017-2018 was 5 goals in 33 appearances

McGoldrick was 8 in 24

We got promoted to the premier League 12 years ago, due to hard work, endeavour, hoof ball, lack of talent but extreme hard graft and a manager that succeeded in spite of the boardrooms small time shit. But we didn't stay there mainly because we spent on the entire team the same as struggling Premier League clubs were spending on one player.

Semi Final was a good day out if that's what you considered it to be...………..Typical Unitedite.
I on the other hand was gutted we lost, I'm sure I'm in the minority because it was a greaayyyyttt dahhy aahhht ........ but hey ho.

These are things I take for granted and even demand from a football club in the fourth largest city in the Country.
And I demand them often, not once in a blue moon.

There is no other football club from a city the size of Sheffield ANYWHERE IN WORLD FOOTBALL that has given it's fans so little in return. NOT ONE SINGLE MAJOR CITY FOOTBALL CLUB ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD...……….Now just think about that.

Even if we hadn't won anything a reasonable continued stay in Englands top division for longer than two minutes would at least be something...….But No

There is a very definite recurring theme here and if you stopped to think about it for a minute instead of blindly slagging off anyone who realises what the recurring theme is you might actually learn just how shit the people that have run this football club for the last million years have been.

Fucking Bradford has more or less the same population as Sheffield, and that's in our own bloody county.

I wonder if that's the only city in THE WORLD the size of Sheffield who have a football club who've been historically shitter than us?

Just had a quick look myself and Donaldson has only started 9 games for those 5 goals.

You’re correct in that it’s not as bad as i thought but it still sort of illustrates my point on him not been an upgrade. I might be proved to be wrong and hopefully am if we sign him.

Not sure in this one myself, more in the fact I thought he was better or someone would offer him something other than a trial

If McGoldrick is fit, or can get fit and stay fit, he’ll be a very good signing and give us something different. Definitely worth having a closer look at imo.

There is no club of a similar size that has achieved as little.
They might all have their bad days as well, but there is always something on the horizon for certain other clubs of a certain size.
Maybe that's why their support is much more accepting when things aren't going so well

Seriously, what enjoyment do you get out of (apparently) supporting Sheffield United?

I’ll tell you what LJB, I don’t think he’s a blade but he knows a massive amount of things about us regards our history. :)

Nope. Just worried that he is not creating an elite athlete culture.
You are Insulting Wilder and the .players professionalism, a few beers at the back-end of a weeks intense training will do no harm.Bonding is part of the exercise ,
sportsmen get well paid and to sustain fitness levels required means they don't over step the mark or the good days don't last for long.

Mcgoldrick would be a clever signing if he can prove his fitness. He is a silky player who can unlock a defence and as done it consistently at championship level. Always rated him.

As for the panic on here by some. Chill the fuk out. Its probably going to be as game of brinksmanship with agents and selling clubs. It's expected. CW knows who He wants and he will sort it shortly.

I have total confidence in CW and that we will have a very competitive championship squad at kick off on day 1.

I don’t see many panicking, I see fans who want their club to sign better, fitter and up and coming players instead of ageing, mediocre championship players who are coming back from bad injuries, like McGoldrick.

Now, I know this is going to be hard with our budget but I’m sure if we scout properly then we’ll find them and then those who you think are panicking will be very happy.

Sounds simple doesn’t it? :)

Getting shitfaced during a period where they're working on fitness will do them all harm and damage conditioning and recovery rate. Kicking off on each other will not help them bond (they're all strangers after all. Never seen each other before).

Take your point wizard but Mcgoldrick is still only 30,and a good player with lots of experience ,trust Wilder to know what he's doing,we will only take him if fitness levels are there,he will not be conned like some of our previous managers

Bang on! As I said earlier, it’s just my initial reaction to us bringing him in. He proves his fitness, does the business, then no one will be more happier than me.

Bradford is nowhere near the size of Sheffield unless you take it's total metropolitan area against the actual city proper of Sheffield.

Besides, regardless of population Bradford is not considered one of this country's major cities

Bradford has a larger population than Nottingham and Newcastle but they like Sheffield are considered to be major cities

Bradford is also a hotbed for rugby with football playing very much second fiddle

I also believe they've been in the Premier League as often as us in the last 20 odd years and likewise appeared in a semi final not so long ago

Oh you're still here I see, brightening up our evening. How nice.

Sadly, Bradford have had more seasons in the PL than us in the last 20 years (2 vs 1)

And they reached a cup final in 2013, which we haven't done since 1936.

Maybe we do both like CW is planning?

Watched a few videos on him this morning he looks an intelligent player who gets most of his goals from deep.

Although we have 2 goalscorers someone like Mcgoldrick to drop deep and build play and make smart runs people like Fleck / Coutts / Duffy will find you regularly.
