I don't know if you've noticed but we're under 3 weeks from the start of the season and our backup strikers to 2 33 year olds are Caolan Lavery and Ched Evans. With 2 30+ year olds supporting them.
We don't have time to play games, we're not in a position to do so. We have replaced a loan goalkeeper with a loan goalkeeper - that's it.

I can't argue with Walker. No one can. No one bid higher for Maguire. No one bid higher than Leicester either. His development has been far and above what anyone expected. Adams? Would you be happy if we paid £10m for him. And who bid more at the time we sold him.

No one bid bigger for Harry but we sold him very early when there was no need to judging on the fact most of the money we got for him was reinvested (badly). Could we have held out for £5mil? I think so, our player of the year and team of the season for 3 consecutive years.

I have noticed funnily enough.
Hence the agreement that we need strikers and Wilder (you know...the manager) stating very clearly that we are prioritising strikers.

The key part of you comment being 3weeks, coupled with the fact transfers are completed in seconds means somebody somewhere is getting their g string in a twist!
Sadly, its knowsnowt morons ranting and raving, wanting it all now, demanding they get their way otherwise they will squeem the house down that make this whole part of the season very tedious.

Negotiations are ongoing for several strikers. Negotiations mean (for the benefit of folk like you) that each side “negotiates” on the fees to suit themselves. This ensures they get the best deal possible so they can use their maximum budget to its greatest effect.
I can tell you this...don’t give a shit if you believe it or not...but it’s not uncommon for player transfers to be negotiated over several months. Often during the closed window (shock horror), so that is the reason old Wilder was getting rather miffed by the ownership wrangles when he did!

I can absolutely 100% guarantee that United won’t start the season with Evans and Lavery as the back up strikers.
Hogan won’t be here, because rightly Wilder will have moved on. Hogan will start the season at Villa.

I wondered if that was known...him being a blade and all.
Perhaps United are his preferred choice. Maybe other clubs are willing to pay more than United but he won’t look at them?
Maybe Peterborough are doing what they always do and quote Pie in the Sky fees to the press to appease fans etc, but will end up taking half that in the end as nobody walks in to pay it?
Maybe we are still negotiating on him??

He’s going somewhere, I wouldn’t rule him out. And he’s a direct replacement for an aging striker in style and finishing ability.

Perhaps we will take Marriott and McGoldrick for the same cost as one Hogan?? Wouldn’t that make more financial sense??
