Who's knows, we never bid!?How much for?
I've dismissed Gallagher and Hogan both as risks way to expensive to take. For your Clarke I'll raise you a Lavery and Hanson. Donaldson was ok and the jury is still out on the others (IMO).So far our fans have dismissed as not good enough.
Sam Gallagher
Scott Hogan
Kemar Roofe
But yet we will start with Leon clarke Who we signed from Bury for 250k. If CW gets a hold of these players imagine how good they are going to become.

We aren't agreeing here!My point exactly buddy so that’s why we need players with more experience and past record of scoring goals at this level such as players like Gallagher / Hogan etc.

Hogan cost 9 million quid and is on god knows what wages scored 6 goals in 42 appearances for a good Villa side (let's say 22 starts, it's still poor) and 15 goals in 40 the previous season (Brentford & Villa).
Gallagher scored 6 in 23 starts for Birmingham and 11 in 35 plus 8 sub appearances for Blackburn.
Neither of these is a prolific goalscorer. I'd take Gallagher if he wasn't going to cost much but Southampton have an excellent record of getting money for players.
It goes against the grain for me but the only way we can properly bolster our strike options is to take a Premiership squad player on loan. As I keep saying all the decent goalscorers have been swept up by the Premier League, if you look back to the Championship top scorers from 16-17 (going back that far because business has barely started this transfer window):
Wood went to Burnley 15m
Abraham, Chelsea player on loan
Gayle cost Newcastle 10m went up with them
Murray promoted with Brighton (previous fee 4m)
Kodjia cost Villa 11m
Kermogant stayed with Reading but he's 35.
Jerome stayed with Norwich scored 2 goals transferred to Derby in January finished the season well but for this I'd have said this was a possible.
Hogan
Knockaert went up with Brighton
Vibe stayed with Brentford scored 7 in 19 - maybe?
Assombalonga, Ince (Huddersfield), Winnall, Cairney, Forestieri, Graham 17 in 42 league 1 (tall lad, maybe) Hugill.
really slim pickings and we don't have any cash to talk of, bar the 2 who I said are maybes I'm going to have to leave it to Mitchell, he gets paid to do it after all.
More legs to this one this afternoon.
Alan Nixon (yes I know) seems to be suggesting we’re “close” to the record £4m fee we paid for Beattie for a player.
Whether that IS for Roofe is a different story mind.

Don't know how this one has slipped the net (for me) but he doesn't look too bad with a bit of everything, don't know if there's anything in leeds hatred of him, they made a scape goat out of Deane. Pushing 4m seems out of order but I guess those are the prices.
I'm hoping our scouts have pulled one out of the bag like Deane or Bent. A week ago I said I'd rather us not spend anything than get 'bent over' or buy somebody as a squad filler but our strike options are starting to look paper thin...Perhaps it's a striker not seen on the radar as yet?
It’s probably going to be £4m spent on the Kop Roof? He does get mixed up in some reyt bollocks.More legs to this one this afternoon.
