Player Suggestion Kemar Roofe

Does anybody else think he will fit the type of player we are after this season I don't think he will cost the world and he has bags of potential in my opinion.
 
I previously said we shouldn't be spending a big fee on him but if we can justify £4m for Egan we can certainly justify £4m for him.

Although we should still aim higher.

Bump. Suggested this guy two years ago but our resident expert from Scandinavia vetoed it on the grounds he was slow I believe. Just scored two against the mighty Lampard powered Derby.

PS Waghorn really is ugly. Glad we missed out there.
 
He looks quality as a centre forward to be fair. Would suit us. Maybe he would've actually been a snip at £3-4m!

But he wasn't £3-£4 mill was he? Anyway can't be doing with ugly players. Upset the feng shui .

Now, that is actually a lie, but I wouldn't be surprised if we were.

I am sure wilder was interested at the beginning when Roofe was at Oxford. Did he play under wilder at Oxford?

Didn't play for him at Oxford but this link from last summer seemed highly likely to be true, in my judgement.

We couldn't have afforded him when he left Oxford.
 
Daily Mirror reporting today that Leeds have opened contract talks with Roofe, though it speculates he may be in no rush given he becomes a free agent next Summer.

I'm surprised there hasn't been talk of this one given Wilder's previous interest (which I'm fairly sure was legit, rather than rumour). Wonder if we'll be back in. Might be on a long list.
 
What would anyone here think he'd be worth? He's 26, scored 14 goals and is on the last year of his contract. 5m maybe? Is that a lot of money any more? I genuinely haven't got a fucking clue any more with the state of this market.

Maybe we should just save the trouble of learning football economics and give clubs a cheque with just our signature on. If we let them fill the rest of it out we hopefully wont upset them too much...

It doesn’t really matter what we value him at, it’s what Leeds want for him and if anyone will pay it.

£8m plus add ons is my guess.

Depends on how keen he is to leave. If he wants to go and refuses to sign a new contract then Leeds will have to sell him for what clubs are prepared to pay. If there’s a club out there that thinks he’s worth £15m, that’s what he’ll go for. If there isn’t, he’ll go for a reasonable offer.

I think he’d like to play for us and I’m sure we can offer him more than Leeds can. It’s just how many other PL clubs might also want him and price us out.
 

Remember lads if you are a championship club and a premiership club comes in for.one of your players and he wants to go you have no option but to sell dont you...and at whatever price they will pay if theres no other bidders? I think that's how it works anyway.
