Player Suggestion Kemar Roofe

I believe this lad could be one player everyone can look up to....

Holmes wanted to go to Charlton. We don't need Revell or any other striker, or at least not as a priority – we need two central defenders and a quality central midfielder, and that is what we will get.

I beg to differ my friend ....... imho we need a big, strong fast striker to play with Sharp, because the Sharp / Adams pairing doesn't work; that's been proven. I believe that if we are to make a realistic challenge for automatic promotion, we need as a minimum:

GK, 2 x CH, 2 x CM, wide Midfield, CF.

And even that leaves us with very little quality as back-up for injuries, suspensions, loss of form etc. ;)

On Holmes; I believe Tufty said that Charlton " made him an offer he couldn't refuse ", by which I'm assuming they are paying him well over the odds, which I agree, we shouldn't go down that road any more ......

I think this rumor is a lemon tbh.

We're unlikely to be paying more than a modest amount in transfer fees for anyone, so I think this lad is WAY out of our price bracket.

I would suggest that we're likely to be looking at free agents for that reason ...... :(

0% chance of Utd signing Roofe - way, way out of our price bracket.

He's still in contract and being courted by Champ and Prem clubs.

I saw him several times last season and whilst he's a very good player and would provide much needed pace, he's not the sort of player CW is apparently after and plays best off a target man (Hylton / Bowers last season). Reminds me of Tony Agana in a lot of ways but doesn't always play as centrally as TA did.

Mouth he is similar to Agana but is more of an attacking midfielder than out and out centre forward. If Oxford lose him they are in trouble because he's easily their best player...although O'Dowda has the potential to be as good

If he has a bad game then he could slip us a couple in our post match pints and we wouldn't remember.

You say the partnership didn’t work but they scored something like 34 goals between them last season and Adams didn’t play week in week out and played some games out wide.

Next season, he will be another year older and if he plays week in week out alongside Sharp in a 2, I could see them getting 40 between them.

That said, I wouldn’t be at all against a big man option and Akinde is my preference. If we got someone like him, we might have to consider putting Adams wide again with Done immediate back up both for the wing and up front.

£3m. Three. Million.

Why the hell weren't we in for him?

It's nothing for someone who's never done anything above League Two.

he scored 26 goals in 49 appearances last season

murphy scored 6 in 34

hence the price difference

goal scorers always fetch more

the first goal on the video was at brentford in the cup

Linked with Leeds' Kemar Roofe this morning. Seen him quite a few times for Leeds and he is a player that I like.

Didn't think he'd be a player they would consider selling this summer and still might not. Us & WBA mentioned as admirers.

Got a couple of mates that are Leeds ST holders and also used to work with a couple.

They all say Roofe is shite and genuinely dislike him. If you’re the scapegoat from their side from last season then that’s saying something.

I've seen he splits opinion but how one can finish top scorer in that team with 11goals (according to transfermarkt) yet still be deemed shite baffles me. He's been used out wide quite a lot too. Play him down the middle, give him chances and he'll score you a decent amount of goals.

Leeds fans that I know also say the same thing

Maybe he's the Brooks replacement Wilder has mentioned. Very good player for Oxford, albeit in a league below, and a tricky runner with the ball. Would fit Wilders profile, young, lots of potential but already proven at championship level, the right age and potentially unwanted by his current club.

Should've bought him before they did to start with!

Leeds could be trying to sell to raise extra funds. They're struggling to get the Vydra deal over the line, Blades style.

I don't think he's good enough to start for us. We should be aiming for better.

I certainly wouldn't want us spending big on him. They paid around £3m for him and he has 2 years left on his contract, so he wouldn't be cheap.
