Cheers mate. That's the badger. My mind might be playing tricks but didn't it have Simmonds as the sponsor the season before that pic.

Yeah in the 1st season we had it, 83/84 promotion season.Cheers mate. That's the badger. My mind might be playing tricks but didn't it have Simmonds as the sponsor the season before that pic.
View attachment 40153 Too young to remember us playing in it but love this shirt
This was the first one I owned.
Pretty awful, but oh the nostalgia. Has a special place in my heart.

That was probably the worst Umbro shirt they ever did especially the shorts! But would still love Umbro back for all the ther decent shirts!
Got this one. Still need the away yellow one from this time. Also the thick red stripe Sabella one. Would pay good money! Looking forward to the yellow admiral one. Remakes are better than nothing. I ordered the Admiral one on e bay at the moment so looking forward to seeing the quality. The shoreham st magnifique yellow was very good.
I remember being bought that kit and the home one and eventually the track suits from that seasonThis one?

Me too. My first away kit as a kid and it's so foul it's beautiful.
Struggling to remember anyone other than Coventry who have had yellow and brown.
Bought the Toffs retro shirt when it came out about 9 years ago. Not great quality it has to be said. Not worn it that much and it looks fucked. Compare it to my original fluorescent Umbro away kit from 89/90 which still looks pristine nearly 30 years later.

I wish I’d bought the home and away. I presumed that they would be available for much longer. That’s the first season I attended (not that I really remember that much) and the home was the first kit I had. (Excellent stripe width)Got it 6 year ago in the club shop.
Only Blades understand how “nice” it is
Always gets a few comments from Blades at games wanting to buy it off me!!
mine have too.. interestingI still love my Tony Currie limited edition shirt, but it appears to have shrunk in the cupboard..
it's a great shirt. but it's a relegation shirt.. and you know how superstitious i am about shirtsThis one?
View attachment 40143 There’s a guy on eBay who I’ve spoken to who can make replicas of this shirt and if there’s enough interest (ie, more than me) he’ll do it. There was a picture on here yesterday from a poster who has bought the Sabella one from the same guy (I forget who it was) so he can vouch for it.
Who would be up for it?
This one?
No the big thick red stripe one - looks like a Southampton shirt. See a few on e bay but go for silly money
I've got that one too, great innit?Did I ever share a pic of my white admiral shirt with the single thick black stripe outlined in red circa 78/79 on here .... ?![]()
Been looking at the shirt we wore from Dec 1972 to to March 1973 in my programmes. The first photo is the squad for March 1973 (after we signed Jim Bone from Norwich and Terry Nicholl from Crewe. The second is from the Derby home game in the same month and the stripes looks the same as it were before Dec 1972.Indeed it did.
The full history is here, every kit.

I have seen a photo of TC wearing a similar one (v West Ham in March 1973. I think). Maybe he and Ian asked for a dry shirt at half time in a rainy day?

Put an '@' symbol followed by the username.
I'd be interested in that. I'm after two home shirts from the year I was born. So the Simonds kit is one of them and the first Arnold Laver kit is the other. Pretty much identical except for the change of sponsor

Are these replica's like for like, with umbro badges etc ? If so i would order.
That picture is one I’ve nabbed off of Facebook, it’s signed too. I doubt it would come with a number on and no way would the signatures be on it - obviously.
The Sabella one comes in all sizes upto about XXL (I think, it may be another X) and I’ve paid £30 including postage from Australia so expect the same.
If you’re on social media his Facebook is ‘grim up north retro’. He’s also releasing that yellow one with the chevrons on it this month which I’m looking forward to. His eBay is ‘gunretro66’.
Edit: it was SleafordBlade who posted the picture up (how do I tag his name??)
