heard from a pretty good source that we are after Beckles ....played out of position at left wing back ..and still looked best wing back in league one ...big strong and quick ...so basically everything we haven't got at left back ...apart from he ai t left footed ....a steady move ..u less we are going to rely on wing backs for our width ..again " ! ..fee mooted to be just under a million

Maybe a wind up. Very strange player. Looks slick and technically adept one minute then toe punts a simple pass out for a throw in the next. But he did get in L1 team of the season, is athletic and seems to have the sort of background and drive that might appeal to Wilder. If we're interested it's probably because he could cover all across the back - right, left and central.

We should buy him, we can always transfer list him in May!

Two footed? If anything in this I suspect he'd be competition/back up for Basham and O'Connell, not Stevens.

What Omar does in his own time is entirely up to him.

I beckle occasionally, myself.

That's a surprisingly good and comprehensive video for a L2/L1 defender. No surprise to see him look more comfortable in the right central area. He's bulked up since this video and I've noticed that he's very strong in one on one battles. As I said, his versatility is probably the main reason we'd sign him, but I'd hope the fee is nowhere near £1m.

He didn't get in the team of the season Ricky according to Wikipedia. He looked awful v Rotherham as others have said, but maybe that was an off day. I'd rather Toto Nsiala who plays alongside Beckles II think. Is Beckles a centre half?

I think there was another team of the season that Beckles, Morsy and Pitman got in.

Beckles is a centre half who's played left back most of this season.

Nsiala seems quite promising, Sunderland were interested in January. Same age as Beckles and similarly combative.

He was awful, he would be effective in League one. He’s big but got dominated by Wood in the air over and over again.

He is a perfect fit for Shrewsbury.

That's what worried me on Saturday if we were going in for him. Can't see anything is this to be honest, especially as Wilder said we needed to shop beyond League One and Two in the majority of cases. I can't see Beckles being the exception.

Who is this "Dan Burn" character?, would he be worth a punt?..........

Not sure he would get away with some of those 1st touches and passes in the Championship. Also most of that video is of him passing the ball about, not much tackling, heading, challenging for the ball, which to is probably the biggest part of a defender's job.He does seem to have a bit of pace about him.
I got the feeling across between Nyron Nosworthy and Claude Davies watching that.

I can dream that we are hopefully looking at better players.

No, not as it stands.

Keeper, Centre half, 2 strikers the priority.

Hopefully that will change. I'm quite sure we'll sign more than 4. Not improving in the LWB position would be stupid. But I suppose if those 4 were top quality then I wouldn't argue if we ignored that position. It would though be frustrating to get 2 quality strikers only to not improve the service to them in any way.

Never say never, but the 4 I mentioned are the priority.

Wilder always wants to improve so all areas will be considered, you never know, it depends on who becomes available.

is he the guy that gave away the penalty that got saved? and then lost the aerial battle with Wood for their first goal?

I know that he divides opinion, but I think Lafferty getting more game time wouldn't be a bad thing, if we don't bring anyone else in. Always seemed to whip the crosses in quicker than Enda, to me at least.

He does get it in quicker, cross it better and scores a few (which I thought Stevens would). But just imagine how many more chances we would've created last season with a genuine quality attacking LWB. Looking at all the goals Ben Marshall created from the left for Millwall is quite frustrating. We could do with that sort of quality.
