Wilder was extremly pissed off that the January transfer budget was cut from what was originally agreed. Seems this is where the trouble started with him wondering where the club was heading.

Speaking completely honestly, either one of Wilder or McCarthy would be a great choice for Sunderland at the moment. They're both very good managers and ideal for picking up a club on its arse. If those are the favoured candidates someone there has a clue about what they're doing. If Wilder goes, Mick would be very high on my replacements list.

Was the budget really cut? Or was it a case of Wilder thinking there would be more to spend? I don’t know why he even asked about Mitrovic as I could have told him his wages were beyond us at the moment and I wouldn’t have wanted us to spend £4m on Forshaw anyway

Genuinely no idea. This information has been passed on via a friend so we are hardly in concrete source territory. I just thought I'd add to the madness with what I had heard.

I sincerely hope CW stays but if not there’s an obvious choice. A guy who knows that proper football is the way to success. His name, as he pronounces it, is Kook.

I've told this one before, but it's an indication of the difference between men and women. I pointed him out to Mrs Trig who knows less than nothing about football and she was surprised I'd recognise somebody like that, out of context.

Megson was with a lady, who I assume was Mrs Megson and later that day, I found a picture online of the two of them. Mrs Trig looked at it and said "yes, that's her".
