Can we sign Dave Whelan?
I know that wilder is gonna have to pull off some miracles in the close season to try and bolster the squad!. It's gone very quiet from our co owners!!.
Does anyone know the current situation?.
Thanks mate. I suddenly realised after posting that it sounded a bit silly thinking that someone might know?. Oh well no harm done. UTBI'm not 100% the co owners know the situation mate.
With the current state of boardroom upheaval, I fear the only way that Wilder has any money to manouvere with in the transfer market is money he raises himself through sales.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I can’t see any money coming in any other way

Spend it McCabe. .
Stop being so bloody logical and spoiling the kids fun will yaIf every club in this division spend more than before, then still only 3 clubs out of 24 can get promotion

We splashed out in 1985/86, 1996/97 and 2007/08, none of them brought us promotionBut you increase your chances. It’s not an exact science, granted, but look at the order at the top of the league and you can kind of see a theme.
It’s the same for the bottom end.
You can only swim against the tide for so long

Did we honestly though? It's always held up as the start of the rot of the last decade and short hand among Blades for frivolous spending, but it's never rung true with me.
Naysmith came in as part of the jags deal, stayed for three years and joined Huddersfield Town on a bigger wage.
Morgan joined on a free.
Beattie came in for roughly the same money that he went out for, staying 2 years.
Lee Hendrie came in on a free and left after 7 months.
Carney came in for £50k and left for more than that.
Speed came in for £250k
Sharp came in for £3m, part of which was made up of Forte going the other way. Played a season for us, went on loan and then sold for £1.5m to Donny (who must have at least matched his wages).
Ehiogu came in on a free & left after a year.
At the same time Jags left for £4m, Davis £3m, Hulse £1.75m, CKR for £1m, Bromby for £500k, Quinn went, Leigertwood for £1m, Fathy for £700k, Stead for £600k, we averaged 25.5k attendances, we were on parachute payments and won the tevez money.
I appreciate that there are wages & signing on fees to consider, but if the period between the end of the 2006/07 season and the end of the 2007/08 season fucked us over, then god help us.

1/10, doesn't have the twist at the end you feel is inevitable. Wouldn't watch again.
