Hope we get him to be honest, I think he'll give us another option maybe. I know he knocked us back once before and that apparently he won't win mastermind. But I don't really care if Blackie has to paint an L and an R on his boots if he's gonna score the goals we need.

Totally agree.. sounds like his agents are being a pain though.

I've heard he want massive wages and massive bonuses. Blades are only prepared to give him one or 'tother!

Sod him... He's a good player but i'd tell him to piss off to Leicester see how his career pans out then

Stuff giving him massive wages AND bonuses. He's not that good a player.

Looks as though Boro might have beaten us to it

Skysports.com understands that Middlesbrough could be poised to win the chase for Leroy Lita's signature.

The striker is a free agent after leaving Reading earlier in the summer and a number of clubs have been monitoring his situation.

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell recently announced he was hopeful of agreeing a deal with Lita after holding talks with his agent.

However, Boro have now emerged as frontrunners after meeting with the 24-year-old's representatives over the last 24 hours.

Lita is now set to undergo a medical with the North East club and an agreement could be finalised in the near future.

SSN are saying he is with us at the training ground today apparently.

Who hasn't trained with us this season though? I'm surprised I've not been invited to train with the Blades.

I don't think so. We've got Henderson, Evans, Ward and Sharp, and we only tend to play with a single striker anyway. Perhaps a loan if we get any injuries, but other than that, I can't see us getting anyone else in at all.

true when you put it like that. But if it does remain that way then i'd like to see us hold on to Billy boy till January

I'm sure we will. I can't see anyone else wanting him for the money we'd be after; at least not a team that he'd be willing to go to.

Thank god they have saved us from signing him, he is disruptive and too big an ego to play in any team. Ask yourself this, why have Reading a championship side leta former England under 21 leave on a free and join a rival? If he had the right attitude he would still be there, they have lost a lot of players over the summer and a quality striker would never be allowed to leave if there wasn't something else.

Also it just supports what the chairman was saying, agents tout around their players looking for the biggest money, fair enough, so on this occasion he would have only ever been going to a club with parachute payments, or QPR. His agent has had him signing at about six or xeven clubs, do we really want someon like that as a Blade, I dont think so.

Put things in perspective that DD. Thank You.

If things aren't going well in terms of goals in January, i'd like to see Sharp loaned out and some money invested up top.

Yep 100% agree with that.

Lita is/was a great talent, not sure where it went, but he's one of those players that's lost his way for one reason or another.

NW loved that sort of player and so does Blackie, they feel that with the right management they can get the best out of them.

But these gambles have to come at a relatively low price for us, especially now we've lost the Parachute payments.

Southgate doesn't strike me as a manager that can deal with the ego's and the mainly players that've taken the Boro money prove that.

Perhaps he'd have been a gamble too far. But we still need another striker

Be interesting to see your reaction after he comes off the bench and scores the winner on Friday.

It's inevitable tbh.

It would be utter disappointment, but he would still never have signed for the Blades and I still dont think he would be a good influence within the club.

dont see how we could have really lost out.
no transfer fee big wadges and bonus.
should think a three year contract would come to around 3.5 to 4 million.
im sure we could have sold him on and recouped half that back even if hes a diva.
lets see if he scores 20 this season and were not scoring how many fans bring his name up again.
what you have to ask is how much are goals worth?

dont realy care Ched looks good.

just hope we dont buy beckford had a look at his goals from last season wont get chances like that in this league the defenders wont give you that much space.
