Couple of dapper looking fashion icons, just goes to show money doesn't buy you everything! By the way, if that's a boner HRH is displaying I'm impressed

As for the article it tells us nothing.
That picture looks weird on so many levels, for one it looks like the chap on the right is about to bash the Prince off but we need to confirm whose hand it is first?:D

Sounds like the prince is having cold feet for me. The biggest boost would be for the thing to be sorted

at “a fair market value”,

Suggests it currently isn’t on offer at what Princey considers a “fair market value”, hence the ‘priority is promotion’ comment.

Suspect it would have been done if It were.

Being a premiership club will almost certainly double the value of the club. If he pays £30m to buy out McCabe 100% and gives Wilder what he wants, his investment will pay off. Then the problems will come if he wants to sell on.

Don's think it would have been done by now regardless of any situation. Buying any business for this value will take months of due diligence. SUFC are a very complex organisation with many layers.

I can see this dragging on well into the summer.

I doubt £30m will pay for the assets, let alone shares.

The property is all outside of BL Ltd/SUFC Ltd. Market valuation as has been said. I'd assume HRH knows what's in the accounts already. Negotiations over the price will take longer than the legal work in my view. We still aren't sure who will come out of this owning us.

Then there's promotion......

Either by design or not, I don't think the two are in same ballpark re: value...hence the statement in the Star/McCabe's 'I'm going nowhere'.

Alright then, pick a number. My point is still the same. Prince knows that with Wilder and some ‘less mean’ transfer budgets, we have a chance of promotion. That in turn opens all sorts of avenues for new investors or even a sale. I’m not saying he will make billions, but a return is almost a certainty.

The higher the number the more money needing to be raised. Promotion won't change the tangible asset value but it will affect the price of the shares. That won't be sorted until the end of the season/promotion campaign, whichever comes first.

If McCabe actually said ! " I'm going no where " , I would assume he is not selling up completly. Why make a statement like that if he is going.
It's a vague situation which hopefully will be made clear Saturday morning.
He will only sell if the buyers put up some real cash to take the club forward, after 20 years on the board to leave us in the hands of untrustworthy owners is not something
McCabe would do.
He's made mistakes with managers in the past this is something he has to get right,
No 2ND or 3 rd chance to get it right, we have to trust he will. I think he will.

Exactly this. I don't even know why they're discussing any sale at the moment. If we get promoted the value of the club will treble or even quadruple. McCabe's not going to sell at today's value and see a potential extra £50m vanish down the chute and the Prince is not going to pay over the odds and see a similar sum vanish if we don't go up.

The source, a trusted confidant of Prince Abdullah, explained that while he is prepared to buy the freehold and leaseholds at “a fair market value”, the “immediate priority” is “pushing to promotion.”

Not sure then where that leaves our Kev, with the "I'm going nowhere" comment

From the outset the Prince said he wanted to make money and the riches were the Premier League so why hasn't the Prince invested in the Championship to get promotion?

From what I understand Wilders remit was to keep us in the Championship this season with a comparatively small investment, job done. My question is if we were only to consolidate this season were we to expect massive investment next season as new funds come available? Or perhaps by some gargantuan effort by our mostly lower league players, were we to be promoted to the Premiership can we afford to cherry pick the best of the Championship players as we did with League 1 and 2 this season to try to keep us in the Premiership. Will we ever see a squad of players at the Lane who's average weekly wage is 30 or 40 thousand pounds under the current regime? Can we aspire to be, well Burnley perhaps? Having said that Forest at home Saturday COME ON...fill up my senses :)

The implication is that the Prince can’t acquire the rest of Blades Leisure unless he buys the ground etc.

On investment, it implies agreed fixed sums were invested by the Prince in years 1-3, then last year and this year it has been 50/50 between McCabe and the Prince funding the losses we made. Maybe any dispute is about the agreement for next season on who funds and at what level.

It doesn’t add much that we don’t already know but it’ll be interesting to receive a report on what McCabe says on Saturday to check what matches and what doesn’t.

HRH doesn't want to buy at current prices with the club in the Championship. I think that makes sense from his point of view. He therefore needs to put in more money himself, which I suspect he can't afford, or help find investment to fund a promotion push. Hoping to make a return on his investment via a promotion miracle under current very modest levels of investment seems pretty foolish to me and doesn't get anyone anywhere.

How handy the "immediate priority is “achieving promotion team building”" comes after the JTW closed.

Mr Prince if the source close to you has nothing of note to say please feel free to tell them to shut the fuck up.

After reading the article. It seems to suggest to me that both parties are miles apart on valuations!. McCabe is clearly not going to be rushed into selling the club. He doesn't want to make a rash decision that could put the club in trouble. ( he is a blade after all). So many clubs have fallen into that trap!!!. Hopefully there'll be more news after Saturday?. UTB

McCabe is clearly not going to be rushed into selling the club.

He can't as he doesn't own it, he only has 50%. HRH has the other 50% so it is a game of brinkmanship.

Separately KM owns BDTBL, Shirecliffe etc but leases are in place and so anyone buying the football club wouldn't strictly need to buy these to begin with.

'Twas ever thus. A 50% share in a seriously loss making business is generally worth bugger all. The difference here that the business in question suddenly looks like it might have a season in the Premier, with all the wonderful riches that brings (circa £200m).

All the article says to me is that the Prince is waiting to see if we get promoted, then he'll consider it if the price is right..

Still wonder what the long term plan is for the club in Belgium that the Prince invested in?

The price for the shares would then soar. If he's going to make significant investment it'd be cheaper to buy it now and reap all the PL benefits himself. The downside of buying the club in the championship is covering the losses whilst in this division as well as funding transfers.

If he has to buy the hotel, despite what some claim, that's loses money as well.

Who will blink first?
