It wouldn't be difficult for anybody to leave him for dust because it's not lack of fitness, it's lack of effort.

There was a run by Chilwell in the first half and Carruthers fully jogged after him. He needs to leave asap.

Awful, for me worst player on the pitch. The amount of times Lundstram gets the ball looks for a pass and he’s nowhere to be seen was so annoying.

He wasnt awful last night but the game just passed him by yet again without him doing anything of note.

Don't know whether it's down to an attitude of him knowing his days at the Lane are probably numbered, or a lack of fitness through lack of games, or just that he isn't good enough (possibly a combination of all three) but it is time he moved on this summer.

He is in the group of 'not quite good enough' players that I eagerly wait to see being culled by Lord Wilder in the summer. Once CW has done his usual outstanding window this summer we will start to look a very strong squad. Happy days.

Thought Lafferty tackled and defended well but was poor on the ball.
Lundstram was a mixed bag, probably best of the three.
Carruthers seemed to try to defend but got skinned by Chilwell several times, was average on the ball and didn't score his one chance.

On current form would rather not see any of these three in a Blades shirt again to be honest.

They have all been replaced with better players and would have to improve massively to get in the first team and can’t see it happening.

We were saying last night that he should of watched Mahrez's performance last night and model his game on him. He has all the ability in the world, but just looks like he can't be arsed most of the time. The amount of times he did an easy backwards or sideways pass just to avoid responsibility was untrue. He's either lacking in confidence, or he hasn't got the mental part to compliment his ability (which is what I think). Such a shame to see a lad with that much talent wasting it (although he won't be the first or last who that comment will apply to).

This. I’m not sure what people expect sometimes. We were always going to struggle to keep the ball against a better team so all of our players were going to be less affective than they might normally be.

I thought Carruthers did OK, he had to sit tight otherwise he was always going to be skinned - and he was few times,
I thought all our midfield did well against better opposition. The system we played seemed to change from 442 to 541
because of Leicesters speed of thought, but we did it with ease, but it restricted our attacking options, we need a "Derek Pace"
type player where you play out from the back (hoof) and he does the rest (what a marksman he was!), in other words we need "runners"

Anyway, well done to the boys, "Jam" looks like he going to be a top Prem' goaly.

I am convinced there is a real player in there but unfortunately doubt we will ever really see it now. It's a real shame we couldn't sort out a loan move last month. 15 games or so would have been just the tonic to get his fitness and confidence back for next season. As it stands he will now probably just rot in the reserves, which doesn't benefit anyone.

He was rubbish as usual and seemed scared to keep posession, often just lumping it straight to Schmeichel when he could have run with it, or a better weighted pass would have given the strikers a chance. Having Duffy on instead of him for longer might have being the difference between losing or not.

Of all the non-regulars who played last night, only Evans was worse.
Lundstram was back on his early season form, but is an OK back-up.
Lafferty was playing out of position, but did a reasonable job in midfield, once Freeman is fit, Laffs probably won't even make the bench.
Wright slotted in for Stearman as if he'd never been missing.
Wilson looked bright at first then disappeared, which seems to happen every time he plays.
Donaldson ran about a bit, but was isolated and well marked.
Brooks was a breath of fresh air despite lacking match sharpness.

I'd be amazed if either Ched or Samir make the bench for the rest of the season unless we have a lot of injuries. A shame they can't be loaned out as they should be playing football somewhere, just not here.

Three players brought in, one playing out of position, none of whom have played much this season, yet some supporters expect them to match an experienced very capable premiership midfield.

I thought they all did brilliantly under the circumstances. Never did they give up and all gave 100%.

Some folk need to stop being so judgmental and give players respect.

Agree with this, I am sure he has a ton of talent and ability, but just doesn't (in his own mind) think he has. Dithers a bit, takes too long on the ball at times, etc. Probably in the same vein as George Long, would go and be outstanding for another club.

In Carruthers case, people actually expect him to put a shift in. The post about him just jogging back pretty much sums up just time here. That's if you don't count his little tricks that don't appear to work as well above L1

Lunny was our best midfielder yesterday by a mile and the ball to release Duffy late on was a worldy of pass!

Lafferty was out of his natural position against premier league midfielders

Carruthers was barely visible yesterday apart from a few corners which he delivered well and that half decent chance he missed. But I wouldn't have expected much more.

All in all a cross from a 65million pound player nodded in by an England international striker was the only real difference between the sides
