It’s not going to happen as I think it’s so hard to get into the top 6 of the Premier league without serious and stupid money!
However, I would say it depends how it happens. If we throw money at it and become another side that just wins by having the biggest wallet with a squad filled with foreign players with no affinity or loyalty to the club, then no, I don’t really want to go down that road
I like our club, I like the way we’re growing naturally with people that care both on the pitch and in management and up to the owners. It’s something that we lost when Warnock went, love him or hate him.
We ended up with final paydayers and journey men that didn’t really care or give their all. We ended up with Joe Mattock’s and Neil Collins’ and we really were a sad and sorry side
To be perfectly honest I want to keep what we have now in terms of the spirit, desire and connection we have between club and fans. If that means being in the Premier League and winning things that’s all good. If it means a few years in Championship, I’m just as happy
I’d love to follow United in Europe, but not without the soul of the club in tact. I’d love to see us win at Wembley, but not with a side of mercenaries.
Personally I really don’t like the Premier league and I think the TV deals will eventually implode. It would be just typical that we were at the top when the tv deals sent the tv operator bust
So bring on the best players from the globe and an upgraded ground, I’d love to have a pint on the kop in December without getting pissed on or freezing my bollocks off. And if an ageing messi and Ronaldo want a final pay day on the hallowed desso then all’s good... they just better be willing to graft and have a pint
