Would you have to be to not go tonight? I've got sinusitis (really painful, feel like shit) and the missus and me are going away for the weekend. She's apoplectic that I'm still going tonight.

Apart from hospitalisation, what's the cut off line?

Depends if it’s on telly and how cold and windy it is.

Shitting yourself. I had to watch the Wendy game on TV because I had food poisoning and I was pissing out me arse. Would have shat myself on the walk to the tram, on the tram, on the walk to the lane and about 8 times during the match haha

If there's nothing coming out of me in an uncontrolled fashion, I go.

Apparently the cut off point is 'the Mother of all Chest Infections', according to my mate. He's staying at home to watch on the box.
I've recommended back surgery to him.

(Having a spine put in)!
UTB

Is that 'apoplectic as usual' or 'seriously apoplectic'? If it's the latter, it probably depends on whether you want the divorce...

So do you have a TV in your bathroom or did you not get to watch the match? :D

I have a pain in my chest shooting down the left arm,

....don’t think it’s owt serious enough to stop me going.....

Exactly the type of curiosity the Forum was intended for.

I doubt there's a hierarchy where being unwell is concerned, so each to their own. The last 4-5 years have seen a gradual, then sudden deterioration in my mobility. What this has meant is that I'm susceptible to infection if I cut or graze my legs. So I avoid large crowds to give myself the best chance of not suffering a bout of cellulitis (for those not familiar, it's a type of blood infection that can knock the stuffing out of me for up to 3-6 months). All it would take is a nudge or unintentional push to bring this situation to a head, then bingo, off I go to the Northern General for 3000 mg a day of antibiotics for about 6-8 weeks. So I'd be far from a happy bunny and I'd regret not taking more care of myself.

For the moment I'm more or less house-bound. It's frustrating, predictable, and at times depressing. I've become addicted to Amazon, I purchase far more than I should really buy, but it's a nonsense really as my love affair with music, film, and books never really goes away, so I've no one to blame other than myself.

I love going to a home game, especially on a Tuesday night. There's something about approaching the ground, watching the crowd swell (the days when we attracted around 13K at a home game are well and truly gone), and knowing that we're in the capable hands of a great management team. This is probably the best United squad I've seen since I began supporting the Blades in the late 1960's, and I think it's fair to say that as long as Wilder is given support that we'll progress in ways that we're unaccustomed to. It's a great time to be a Blade, long may it continue. UTMB!

A bit of shouting and cheering might actually clear your sinuses a bit

Puts my bit of a shit cold into perspective!

My step dad has a similar issue but he's a Donny fan so big crowds aren't a problem!!

It's what it is sitters. I try not to dwell on it too much, it doesn't help and I get pleasure from listening to radio reports of how we're doing. The shoutbox is, of course, mandatory for anyone with a love affair of the Blades. Hopefully the procedures I'm currently having may improve things, so patience will enable me to take stock and hopefully I'll be able to return to attending home games at some point. First things first, we have Villa to take care of, so I expect a revved-up team that take's 'em by the throat as we impose ourselves and show that we're the better side.

Is it just desperation to get out of Carlton in Lindrick for the night?! ;)

Sinusitis can be quite painful.
You could really do with staying at home and getting a good night's rest.
Can I have your ticket?

Think anything just short of death for anything non contagious is about right. But nothing worse than being couped up with someone coughing Ebola germs all over you.

I gave my Derby ticket away to my brother because I had Flu; and I mean real flu the type were you struggle to get out of bed, and seriously consider pissing the bed because getting up to go to the toilet is so bad. Never before and hopefully never again.

That was the line for me.

I missed the Leeds game in 2003 when Jags scored because I had a strangulated testicle.

It's a bastard sinusitis. Mainly coz it doesn't exactly sound double hard does it, but can make you seriously ill, and other folk say they've had it when they've had a cold.

Every sympathy pal. Now get thi sen dahnt Lane

When I lived in Sunderland I contracted mumps, not something pleasant for an adult, and was told not to move by the doctor.
I felt shit and decided I needed the comfort of home (I was a student at the time). I got some funny looks on the train down as my neck was as wide as my head.
Anyway, we were playing Man. U at the Lane that night (early 70s) and although I wanted to get home the lure of Bramall Lane was too much and I ended up on the terrace trying to shout as best I could.
Can't remember the score at all but all I can say is,"I was there."
