If we sign anyone like Forshaw now that could only be because Fleck's leaving. Which he won't be.

If there's anything in this I assume the source is late. He's a good player who we'd like to have but our midfield recruitment is done now.

Warnock's let himself go....

Central midfielder but can play right wing......

Is wilder looking at the times in which he may have to switch to a 4 across midfield? Letting CCV go could be the biggest hint yet that Wilder is open to a back four......But we are still missing a left back in that case.

Agent doing a bit of fluffing.

Clue, multiple bids from Derby and Pigs failed. They want money

And why would CCV’s departure indicate that we may switch to four at the back? The RCB position is Basham’s, Stearman is bossing it in the middle and JOC is our LCB.

I think you’re reading far too much into the departure of a CB who was primarily signed as back-up.

On sky sports saying we’re in for him! Got a feeling Fleck will be going

If it's in Boro's local paper that means it's probably more than just a busy agent circulating rumours.

Surely we're not after him to replace Carruthers - that would be a bit over the fucking top wouldn't it?!

Maybe it's just a case of us wanting to take an opportunity to sign a very good player - maybe with thoughts of turning it permanent in the summer.

Possibly so. However, with CW indicating Sheffield United’s work in the transfer window is complete, I can't see it, nor can I see us competing with other clubs over wages anyway

We'll see

Their local rag is quoting the telegraph.

Not enough meat on the bones for this to happen.

Anyway, didn't CW say that was it for incomings?

If we do sign him he goes in alongside Fleck for me. He's simply a cut above Lundstram the others we've signed.

He could also play Duffy's position and role very comfortably. He's quite a similar player.

But I just don't see this happening.

YP quotes CW when talking about Ricky Holmes and CW says Holmes is the last piece of the jigsaw with incoming transfers

I doubt very much that Holmes is the last piece. CCV going back makes you wonder whether we will start clearing some players to help bring in another. Lafferty, Carruthers, Lavary etc I doubt will have much game time, apart from the FA CUP. I imagine after the Preston game we could see some more moves including some loans for Thomas, Henegan etc;

When Wilder was initially quoted 3 loans and a 1transfer) he actually implied that he wanted 4 before anyone went out.

Not quite Sheffielder. I'm sure when he said 4 in he also said at the same time there would be 3 or 4 going the other way

Agree in that im hoping CW is working at trying to get a few more out if the door to possibly free up funds for maybe one more incoming player. It helps us balance the books a little, whilst it helps get game time to the lads on the fringes of things.

Carruthers, Henegan, Lavary, and Slater, should all be looking to get out and play some football on loans (or a permanent in Carruthers case probably). However I would be loath to see Lafferty or Thomas go out at this point. The former because Id like to see the lad get a run whilst Stevens current form is tainted. If CW doesn't fancy Laffs (who has never let us down and did well last season) then there should be a loan player coming in for left wing back. Riley from Man Utd would be a decent choice.

Thomas does things that we don' have a lot of at the moment - he runs at opponents. It would seem daft to lose him in fact I would have liked to have seen Thomas come on against the PiggyWigs with 25 to go. Thomas should be a bench player and another option each game.

I can see us cutting down the squad now. We have a few fringe players who are little too far away from competing in our first team.

Maybe these will go out on loan / sold.

CW will balance the books accordingly.

Cardiff signing Marko Grujic on loan. That makes Forshaw unlikely to go there.

If Heneghan plays v Preston then he can't be loaned out as a player can't play for more than 2 clubs in a season. Bloody stupid rule really

No, no, of course it isn't! You see the aim with this, in tandem with the abolition of the loan window, is to ensure as many footballers as possible are prevented from playing football. It's for the good of the game.
