So Robbie what's the solution? I thought their gamelan worked tonight, fair enough they got a point.
So what should wilder do? Are the signings the answer?
Whether the signing are the answer or not, only time will tell.
As for Wilder, he needs to be able to change his formation to deal with teams who match ours and/or sit back. For me, I think in games like today, we'd be better only having one striker on and having another midfielder in the middle. Brooks would have been perfect, but sadly not available. The only times we created any space were when Clarke or Wilson came back into midfield and pulled players with them. We did not do enough of that and no one was running into the gaps left to capitalise.
Our two strikers were essentially marked out of it. because they had numbers behind the ball, every ball into strikers was hopeful. I would have taken Donaldson off and put Leonard on. Had 3 central midfielders on the pitch, ran at them from deep and tried to work space to get shots in. With that many players behind the ball, you can easily get deflections, kind bounces and unsight the keeper. We were too slow and our passing was poor. They crowded us out.
