The Bolton game is the one you should make the effort for, above all others.

If we can't get a decent turnout for this game we'll have an uphill battle convincing people to move there for the next one.

Even if you're not one to mekafuckinracket all game, you can still go to the target area (which should be marked by a flag) and contribute.

It really doesn't take a large number to make a big impact up there, so don't think it's not worth the effort.

It's something that could really improve our home support long term. One good showing is all it will take to kick it all off.

You'd be doing something that could have a positive impact for the club.

You'll probably have a better view of the game too.

Everything you need to know is on this thread... https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/blut-plans-bolton-game.60209/

It also goes without saying that we need those who turned up against Bristol City to come back.

Full support but no presence I’m afraid. I’m sure you understand. To all the young ‘uns who don’t have tartan blankets and thermos flasks to encumber them:

Givitafuckingo!

Is there any legs to the idea that maybe the club could give, say 50, tickets for free in BLUT?
I know from their point of view they'd be loosing a bit of revenue. But if it helps to get a permanent fan-base up there then could it be worth it?

I admit there are some obvious flaws with this idea, but if you could ensure the 50 went to those who would be vocal, could be worth looking into...

The biggest thing the club could do IMO, without asking them to directly contribute and endorse it, is provide an online facility to move season tickets for individual games.

This would make things so much more practical.

I'd like to think they'd do what they can to help because ultimately it has the potential to make the BLUT a more appealing area and increase attendances.

To be honest, I don't think it's one of those things that just all happens at one game; it'll take time to grow organically. Don't forget we've lots of STH's this season, so people moving their seats over will take time - it's not like the old days where people could just congregate easily if they wanted. I'd say keep going with it, it may take quite a way through the season (or maybe next year) to get the results you're anticipating but if you keep at it, people will respond.

It will take season ticket availability in that area to establish any sort of consistency. This season's about building the platform for that.

If just one game can be successful it will be a huge reference point for me and people will quite naturally move there for other games. They certainly won't need anywhere near as much convincing.

Have you asked them?

I didn't want to involve the club at all but I'll make enquiries.

I wonder if they could simply arrange it all by email, and waive the £2 fee for those moving from the Kop?

From a security point of view, the email would have to be sent from the email address linked to the customer number's online sales account.

Then all they'd have to do is send the replacement ticket out or hold it for collection.

It's not like they'd lose much money, and the potential long term gains outweigh it anyway.

Also, anyone who thinks our vocal support should be better, here's an easy chance to do something about it. No excuses.

The best thing the club could do would be non-designated seats, perhaps in specific blocks, up there, including season tickets.

Best view in the ground IMHO.

Amazed how good the view is first time I sat there.

It's an excellent view. So that's the least you'll get if you move up there for Bolton. Atmosphere should at least be OK too. There's nothing to lose for you. So give it a go!

Can't think of anything to add at the minute so I'm just going to bump it.

Be in there for Sunderland & Bolton pal , back you all the way

Nothing's planned for Sunderland but hopefully it's noisy up there anyway. Bolton's the big target and it'll be the last until at least the Villa home game.

Can you vote in this poll btw (same goes for anyone else planning on going up there, it helps me keep track of numbers, gives me numbers to refer to and could help encourage others to move). https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/blut-plans-bolton-game.60209/

Looks like around 25 have already bought/moved their tickets up there for this game. Looking good for the minimum target of 50.

There'll be plenty of space up there to move into but not as many tickets are available now so sort your tickets ASAP to ensure you get a seat in that area.

Seats 104-117, as far back as possible.

Got to say Ricky, your attempt in persuading other Blades to support this idea is admirable. Well done. I know we've exchanged words before, but all that aside, a good idea is to be supported, if I could join you I would, but I'm currently going stir crazy because of a lack of mobility. Well done fella. UTMB

Ricky, you are a top Blade, putting yourself out there and encouraging other Blades to basically get behind the players on the pitch  BDTBL is a great stadium with great fans.

Cheers. I can only try. God knows where it'll end up. But there's no reason it can't be successful, and I see real potential with it.

Support from anybody is appreciated whether they'll join in with it or not - it should only put us in a better position if the club ever need convincing over anything.

Again, anybody who supports this, please make the effort for the Bolton game. It's important that it's relatively successful.

Especially those of you who couldn't make the Bristol City game. ElephantBlade Bladepicker Carlton Blade TomJonesBlade blade67 and anyone else, get yourselves up there for this one if you can.

And anyone who did turn up, Getting Wilder nopigfansintown Dec ryza etc, make sure you come back.

As long as we're in the same place it'll be worthwhile, because there should be at least 40 of us. Be way more if enough of the supporters of this idea make the effort...

It certainly is admirable and well done from me n all Ricky.

Personally I think it would catch on and be more effective if it was on the Kop and push everyone over to gangway G.

There are pockets of vocal support spread across the kop but most of the noise comes from that end and if everyone was located back there it would make for a special atmosphere.

The view is shit though with the posts and may be difficult if there aren’t many seats available, but I think that’d be a better plan and catch on quicker.

Good luck though and well done again mate.

The problem with the Kop is the lack of space/seat availability. If we could have a reshuffle and get people in the same place then it'd be great, but how would it be possible with all the ST holders? Our best opportunity to do something like this would be when the Kop is extended and new seats become available - or ideally standing areas.

The other side of the Kop has space and potential but it just doesn't seem like a popular area, maybe because it's quite far wide of the pitch. I'd like to see a loud group near the front on that side. Most of the noise comes from the back of the Kop, and that's about 100 yards back from the pitch, so it doesn't sound loud at all from the other end.

What would make a massive difference to the Kop is if Gangway E were louder. They'd connect F/G with D in the middle and far more would join in at the same time. But again, seat availability. So all you can do is appeal to those on there to raise their game!

Even if the Kop improved though, the other end would still be quiet. The BLUT idea could improve that end a lot and also indirectly improve the Kop.

It would be great to create a vocal support area in a part of the ground with such a good view. It would be the best place to be.

Totally agree with all of that.

It would be great to have vocal support at the BL end and itwould spur on other parts of the ground. It’d create a really intimidating atmosphere for the away fans too surrounded by noise.

G and H on the South Stand would wake up again. I've seen signs of it when I've been on the BLUT, especially the Bristol City game. If it gets going they'll join in, and that area could really take off as well.
