This is what seat availability looks like in our area. So, you know... hurry up.

Screenshot 2017-12-29 at 15.13.09.png

A lot of those in grey will be empty though because a lot were handed out to academy players etc. So you'll be able to move up there. Best to get tickets as close as possible though.

About 10 more of those have sold now. Hope they're ours.

I'm quite confident for tomorrow. There should be a decent number of us, 50+. There'll be no excuse for being in the wrong area. There will be space to move into but there will also more up there to join in with us. Should be a good balance. And I fancy our chances of winning the game, which would help.

Good luck Ricky. I shan’t be moving for this one but am open to for a future one as I do like it up there. Overall I’d like to commend your positive attitude and persistence. Top blade.

Target area:

Simple target area.png

Go as close to the back/flag as possible, regardless of where your actual seat is. There'll be space to move into.

If somehow space is limited in our area there should be room at the back of the central block because tickets aren't sold to fans there.

We up for it today then BLUTfuckers?

Well I will be in there Ricky along with three of the old boys (all family) who are going for the first time in ages. All.can still give it a stirring song or two when the moment dictates. If the atmosphere is there we will be joining in.

Hope all goes well in the BLUT  and hopefully another 3 points for the 2017 total.

really disappointing today. I turned up with about 10 others.
.
what a great view but no atmosphere at all

turned into a row between a really disappointed lad who'd gone to get stuck in and a dad not happy with his swearing, which was understandable really.

I'm no chant starter but joined in, but if no one else wants to, it soon stops.

Shame but it needs 30 to 40 really

A pitiful failure.

We've been unlucky with a few things and the club helped fuck us up yesterday but there's no excuse for it being as bad as it was. Bristol City was actually much better.

I'm certain plenty more than 10 turned up yet I didn't hear them all game.

And the 'academy players' would be little girls with their parents wouldn't they. And they would insist on turning up! Fuck me. So there wasn't as much space as I thought but anybody who wanted to be in that area could've gone there.

I think it's time to start being more brutal and change the approach a bit because I'm not prepared to see this go down the shitter with a pathetic whimper. But I can't force people to do anything.

I emailed the club about it after they wiped out our target area for yesterday's game and went into detail about the idea. They're apparently having a meeting about it so we'll have to see what they say. It's exactly the sort of thing they should be encouraging but I'm not holding my breath.

Hi Ricky, please don’t take this setback personally. I have been very impressed with how you have organised this whole thing and I’m not sure what more could have been done on your part.

To me it seems clear that support from the club in some way, such as subsidised tickets for you to allocate to the most vocal of the group, would been a great incentive. Perhaps also some information on their ticket promotions about the “singing section” would push the idea to a wider audience as well.

For my part, I will spread the word amongst my peer group who go to games and who join in with sounds.

Don’t give up and best of luck.

I was up there yesterday in gangway B with a friend on the back of a free ticket for yesterday's game. The view from that gangway was brilliant but the atmosphere was almost nonexistent given how surprisingly busy it was/felt. Can't recall many, if any songs starting.

Can I have a subsidised ticket if I promise to get off my arse for greasy chip butty?

Maybe I'll just have to buy everybody's tickets for them....

All I want the club to do is keep the back 5 rows in that block available for sale, and I've told them that. It's nothing to ask.

The stewards up there are sound so no problem there.

It would be a bonus if the club enabled STs to be moved by email and waived the £2 fee to move from the Kop.

I don't think the BLUT is the place.

Maybe the best option would just be to try and improve the atmosphere in the Kop or the South stand instead of trying to create one from scratch. People who sit in the BLUT pay extra to sit there because of the bloody view. I don't know if the potential is there.

Agree. Ricky you should move to the back of gangway B at the back of the Kop. All the noise has moved to the opposite end of the Kop and it’s flat on Gangway B. Get yourselves over there.

It's cheaper to go on there than John Street or the South Stand though. As long as the space is available the potential is there. All people have got to do is put a bit of effort in.

That side of the Kop would be my second target area. But the problem with it is that it would take a lot more to have an impact. It's much further back from the pitch, and nobody down from the back 10 rows joins in. Unless we've scored, for 30 seconds.

The best thing we could do is get vocal support behind both goals and the BLUT is the only way we could do that. Additionally it could reinvigorate H on the South Stand so it'll take quite a bit for me to target part of the Kop instead.

Fair point. I do think ultimately if safe standing gets introduced at BDTBL it will be the back half of the Kop. So probably worth colonising that area as it strengthens the case for it. The steep rake on the BLUT mean it couldn’t happen there.

The kop singing sections have been split into two these days, and regularly counteract each other. If these could be somehow joined it would improve the atmosphere no end.

Standing areas on BLUT would actually be safer than seating on there if there was a rail on every row. The back of the seats in front are a tripping hazard when standing up, on steep stands especially. And everybody stands at some point in the game. Then there's walking along the row squeezing past people in their seats - lose your balance and over you go. If there's a rail you're going nowhere. But enough common sense. It's easier for them to pretend it'd be dangerous.

I agree it'd be good to colonise as much of the Kop as possible.

Spot on. I've sat/stood with both groups and they both make a lot of noise. But they never ever pick up on each others songs to get both sets singing in unison. It's like they do it on purpose and can't bring themselves to pick up on the other's chants. An odd kind of rivalry back there.

Keep at it Ricky. Yesterday was disappointing, but the whole day seemed a bit flat, both on and off the pitch. Bristol game was better as stated earlier, but there is scope for improvement. I will aim to be up there for the Pigs and give it a go. If I can get someone else to drive I might squeeze in a couple of tonsil looseners before the game.
Anyway, don't be too disheartened, if you build it, they will come!
UTB!

I was up there yesterday, albeit not at the back seeing as there were families galore. The lads at the back would try to get things going, but there weren’t enough of them. We and 1 or 2 others tried to help carry the chants further forward or when they came across from the Kop/SS, but it was nearly hopeless. Most people up there would rather sit on their iPad or turn round and stare at anybody singing before getting behind the team.

I believe the only way this can work is if the club cooperate with ticket sales because there’s no way anything is getting going up there with families and kids throughout the target area.

I was up there on the back row with my lad yesterday (for the 1st half). Disappointing but I'd be back there for other games if the club set aside some seats, as people around us didn't realise why we were there. Keep going with it Ricky.

Villa tickets on sale today. Wanted this to be the next one but not sure now after the Bolton game. I don't think people will be in a rush to move back and it's under 4 weeks away.

If I thought enough would sort their tickets early, I'd go for it. If not, I'll wait until the QPR game on 20th Feb.

What do you think?

Villa will no doubt be moved due to FA Cup 4th Round - even if we don't beat Ipswich, they've got Peterborough at home.

Thanks for that, had forgotten about the possibility of rearrangement.

Likely to be a Tuesday game like QPR then, probably within 2 weeks of it. I could wait and see what happens but by that time there'll only be 3 weeks to go and the derby will be a big distraction too.

Villa's away support will be noisy too, which we could do without. And there'll be the competition for tickets in BLUT from our own fans - I expect a big attendance.

Might be best to just wait for QPR.

The Bolton game is the one you should make the effort for, above all others.

If we can't get a decent turnout for this game we'll have an uphill battle convincing people to move there for the next one.

Even if you're not one to mekafuckinracket all game, you can still go to the target area (which should be marked by a flag) and contribute.

It really doesn't take a large number to make a big impact up there, so don't think it's not worth the effort.

It's something that could really improve our home support long term. One good showing is all it will take to kick it all off.

You'd be doing something that could have a positive impact for the club.

You'll probably have a better view of the game too.

Everything you need to know is on this thread... https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/blut-plans-bolton-game.60209/

It also goes without saying that we need those who turned up against Bristol City to come back.

Good atmosphere in there last night best this season and tied in with support from John St & South Stand H , shows what we can create , well done Ricky for all you’ve put into this this season , top man

Agreed but could have been better. Problem is that the folk in there who want to stand and sing are too thinly spread. If you're sat next to dullards who don't want to chant and sing, it tends to dilute the atmosphere somewhat. Would be much better to have unspecified seating up there so that the singers can all gather together in one place and the dullards can find a quiet corner.
