The problem with the Kop is the lack of space/seat availability. If we could have a reshuffle and get people in the same place then it'd be great, but how would it be possible with all the ST holders? Our best opportunity to do something like this would be when the Kop is extended and new seats become available - or ideally standing areas.

The other side of the Kop has space and potential but it just doesn't seem like a popular area, maybe because it's quite far wide of the pitch. I'd like to see a loud group near the front on that side. Most of the noise comes from the back of the Kop, and that's about 100 yards back from the pitch, so it doesn't sound loud at all from the other end.

What would make a massive difference to the Kop is if Gangway E were louder. They'd connect F/G with D in the middle and far more would join in at the same time. But again, seat availability. So all you can do is appeal to those on there to raise their game!

Even if the Kop improved though, the other end would still be quiet. The BLUT idea could improve that end a lot and also indirectly improve the Kop.

It would be great to create a vocal support area in a part of the ground with such a good view. It would be the best place to be.
I’m reyt back of gangway E and many chants get started there. Shame the right block don’t get involved and only involves the people on right of D and left of E

Again, anybody who supports this, please make the effort for the Bolton game. It's important that it's relatively successful.

Especially those of you who couldn't make the Bristol City game. ElephantBlade Bladepicker Carlton Blade TomJonesBlade blade67 and anyone else, get yourselves up there for this one if you can.

And anyone who did turn up, Getting Wilder nopigfansintown Dec ryza etc, make sure you come back.

As long as we're in the same place it'll be worthwhile, because there should be at least 40 of us. Be way more if enough of the supporters of this idea make the effort...
swapped my ticket the other day. plus 2 I know who are going in there and will join in

Get them to go in our target area. The more of us together the better.

I think there's a petty 'us and them' mentality from F/G. They're the top boys and they won't join in with anything they haven't started!

Generally they all need to realise they have to join in with each other to make any real noise, and notice when to pick chants up. It's not hard. But they just do their own thing most of the time. So we're disjointed.

I do think if E could be louder and pick up the chants from F/G it'd spread to D and really be quite loud. Doesn't happen often enough.

This has happened towards the back of the kop for years. There’s fractions that will never be resolved for one reason or another.

This isn’t cast iron evidence by the way, it’s just the impression I get from going on the kop for years.

2 more of us sorted here Ricky 114 and 115 but a few rows from the back because that’s all they’d sell us. We’ll just move further up. One more might be joining us if his missus lets him out

Or in wizadry ‘s case, if he lets his mrs out of him...
What happened with that guy on here who’s wife we having an affair? Can’t remember the thread but as it’s half past and the ground is empty I could do with a distraction.

What was it like up there today? Busy obviously, any noise at all?

I am not usually one who worries about the atmosphere I am always of the opinion that the action and performance on the pitch dictates it.

However for such a big crowd it was surprisingly quiet today, but then this seems to happen a lot with Boxing Day fixtures, it always get the big attendance and you always expect it to be rocking, but once the game day comes along everyone seems a bit hung over from the previous days excess’.

Yep was in the Westfield upper and sorry to say could not pick out Rickys area once. Despite trying to.
Mind you if them lot had done Karaoke like us yesterday, I cannot blame them.

We weren't up there today! That's why I asked how it was. Bolton was always the next target game after Bristol City.

When it should be decent if people go to the right place.

Hey pal, I'm up for moving if I can - Gotta speak with the guys I'm going with, they're a bit set in their ways I'm afraid. Will let you know.

Tell them it's a great view and that they at least won't be sitting in silence.

Or just come on your own, be reyt!

Will do, I reckon they'll listen! Have a good evening pal. UTB

Hope you manage to persuade them anyway - 3 or 4 is a lot and will make a big difference. If you do, you know where to go don't you - around seat 115 at the back. As near the flag (hopefully) as you can. Not many tickets left at the back but there'll be space to move into.

6 of us have moved over for the Bolton game. We couldn't get any further back than Row R.

Quality, 6 is a lot. Are you between seats 104-125? If not, look to move to the back few rows of that area if there's enough empty seats.

Yep, we’re in 106 onwards. We’ll move further back if there’s any spaces but looking online and talking to the ticket office yesterday everything further back has all been sold. Either way don’t worry you’ll still hear us!!!

A big chunk of those unavailable seats were given away to academy players apparently. Not happy about that but the result could actually be more empty seats than there would be otherwise.

2 more here, also on row R.
The academy players had better get behind the lads(should be part of their football education) or they'll get a slap and moved on;)

Hope you get this going Ricky. I was talking to a Palace mate yesterday about what you're doing and he said it's similar to what happened at Selhurst. Although on the home end, not many sat or stood together. It started with around 30 or 40 but has grown to what they have now. It might not be to everyone's taste but they certainly make plenty of noise now.

Be funny if the academy lads went and played a big part in kicking this whole thing off wouldn't it?

Interesting. It's encouraging to know Palace started with a small group. I've said that it'll only take 50 or so to get it going so this is a useful reference point for me. A small committed core can go a very long way and I want anybody interested in the idea to understand that. I'm not bullshitting when I say every individual we can get up there will make a difference!

What I'm aiming for is something broadly appealing, it's the best way to get decent numbers and wider approval. Fair play to those Palace fans though. It might be a bit Ultras-like but at the end of the day they support their team effectively, and that's the main thing. More clubs need to follow suit. Many scoff at these organised support areas but they're necessary if we want to improve the atmosphere in English grounds.

I'll be there with my Dad, he doesn't know I've booked us tickets there and enjoys a flask/blanket combo so he probably won't be the best example for the young 'uns. I'll do my bit though. UTB

Wangled a 2pm finish at work on Saturday, and looks like my usual +1's are going to let me down.

If I end up going on my own I'll join you.
