As you can see I,m new on here and I would like to know , How many on here think Blades really deserve the money from West Ham ? Be honest now people .

I personally think we were wronged in the sense that an illegal player made such a difference to the team that finished fourth bottom. I would have felt exactly the same had it been Wigan or whoever else.

All this could have been easily avoided had the FA and Premier League acted quicker over the issue.

In they end they left it to late and decided not to deduct points for that exact reason.

The correct punishment for this would have been a fine and a points deduction, but it was held up for whatever reason, i have my suspicions that Trevor Brooking, being a prominent member of the FA, may have had something to do with it all, and the only got a fine.

Ultimately the PL is at fault for not resolving it quicker. The result of their incompetence is that two clubs have created un wanted hatred and animosity.

We deserve some form of compensation. I personally think it should be from the FA or PL, not West Ham.

But dont you think Sotonblade , that the way Blades played for the last few games had something to do with the relegation and not that Tevez had a bigger hand in keeping WH up

Both played a major factor.

Both played a major factor.

Plus, the outcome of breaking the rules and continuing to is irrelevant. It doesn't make it any less wrong dependant on its benefits!

We only deserve money because the punishment didn't fit the crime.

We play for points not cash and that's how the punishment should have been given out....a loss of points.

If the powers that be had done the right thing to begin with the game would be better.

:)

The authorities should have deducted points as well as a fine. It was noticeable that ex Wednesday Chairman SIR Dave Richards was involved in it all with Trevor Brooking. To say "It wouldnt be fair to West Ham supporters" was a disgraceful statement to make and made me really angry.
West Ham cheated and lied, not us, and they deserve any punishment coming to them.
Heads should roll in the FA/Premier League, too, but I am not holding my breath!

But dont you think all this is opening up a larger can of worms where any team in the country who is not happy with the result of a game or the position they finish in the table gives them the right to demand money from whoever was to blame . Lets not turn English football into the way things are run in USA where someone who is not happy = take them to court , I personaly dont think this is the answer

The issues is NOT whether The Blades were good enought to stay up but whether West Ham deserved to be sent down. Judging by the punishments that had been, and have since been given to other clubs, I would say a points deduction should have been given.

And the other piece of nonsense put forward is that the Argentines were more of a liability than an asset. They probably were, but the fact remains that WEst Ham signed two world-class players knowing that they were probably breaking the rules and when this was proved, lied to make sure one of them could continue to play whilst preserving the thrid party involvement.

That last part may well yet land West Ham with some serious consequences.

The only thing about west sham that really sticks in my mind is the goal that t£vez scored against 8Lackburn away that did'nt even go over and clear the line.
Not the goal at manushited, the non goal at 8Lackburn.
We went down on goal difference don't forget.
I also went to west sham away, we had the ball in their net 3-4 times and lost 0-1. hmmmmmm

The player shouldn't have been playing, simple as, to me it's like having someone working for you whos on the fiddle...so if you screw the taxman, he will want repaying...

A player helped another team get where they are, and he wasn't supposed to be there...it cost one club a lot of money and heartache...so you tell me, should we drop this whole thing and say ce la vie? Or should we expect justice? Would you as a person be happy with someone getting away with seemingly cheating ways...or would you turn a blind eye and see them reap all the rewards?

The can of worms was opened when one team cheated and wasn't really punished.

What is the answer? Cheats allowed to prosper? there's enough of that already.

The thing is as well though , didnt Blades beat WH at home with Apache playing and was 9 points clear of them at the time , makes you wonder what went wrong

I try not to swear on forums and i apologise for this:

Wet Spam the cheating lying fucking bastards ought to be thrown out of football, there assets sold and all the proceeds given to the Blades.

and this makes cheating okay and proper because?

swop places then westsham, you've got off lightly end of.
Dont call us blunts, there's only one team that can call us that, and they say it when nobody can hear.

What do you actually want people to say? What relevance does beating WH at home have on all this? I don't think there is anyone here who would say that our results were not a factor for being relagated and people seem to think all Blades fans walk round with their fingers in their ears singing when it's mentioned about being clear of the relegation zone, that is just ridiculous and is a seperate and footballing issue to discuss.

The issue over Teves and Mascherano oversahadow that, but was not brought up as a reaction to relagation so it's not opening a 'can of worms' as you say. This was an ongoing enquiry that was not resolved adequately, the issues are over a team who broke the rules of the game and the governing bodies who did not take the appropriate actions for punishment. It is for those issues that the claim for compensation has been made, the papers and media will dress it up as they see fit, all you need to do for a fine example of that is to read a Martin 'Munter Salami' Samuel column about the issue.

Take from that what you want, but just don't mention the war......erm I mean that we were 9 points clear of the relagation zone.

He'd better be careful not to use it in your church then.

I take it you don't have an answer to my earlier question by the way?

Why come on here asking such questions?

West Ham did cheat and the punishment should have, and I hope still will be, a points deduction.

The cash we receive is a justification/recompense that those points should have been taken away in the past.

:)

What was that " Cheats dont prosper " or " Swearing is allowed in church " :p

Steve Kabba :D

How many times?

The offence isn't having third party influence over a player... it's signing a player who has a third influence on him.

Which is why West Ham are coughing up... not Kia Bobchicken.

10 large ones over 5 yrs isnt going to buy much though is it , 2 mill a yr in the cocopops and WH get 50 mill a yr x 5 , big difference :(

Well, i'm gone from this thread. While i'm all up for open debate, opinion and even a good bit of banter, i'm finding this pointless.

You are not answering questions in a decent manner, just giving random facts, replies and questions that are not adding any quality to this.

Good evening to you, i'm off to the pub now!
