Left field suggestion but is Nathan Thomas fit and ready? Looked lively pre season
He’s a winger. That’s so left field it’s out of bounds, mate...

Why? There is no imperative, other than parochial sentimentality to ‘bring Jake back in’ and certainly no need to do anything to artificially “enable” it.
Unfortunately for him, his needs don’t matter. Only those of Sheffield United do. Lundstram will play and rightly so.
I would stick in Lundstam to replace Fleck during his suspension. I've been generally disappointed with Carruthers so far, he doesn't produce enough on a consistent basis, and he doesn't seem to fit as well in to the team as much as Lundstram does. So far in Lundstram I have seen a footballer who can seemlessly slot in to the side when required and after a couple of shaky performances he is growing and developing as a footballer. I think Lundstram is going to grow and develop in to an excellent player for us, whilst I think Carruthers is going to be a player who drifts away from the first team picture,
I don't see any need for Jake Wright to come in, especially against Matt Smith up top for QPR.
Hmm..I just don't see Lundstram being a natural choice. The main reason he'll start ahead of Samir is that QPR have a tall side. But Carruthers deserves a chance as much as Lundstram does, not that I'm anti-Lundstram by any stretch.
Nor am I anti-Samir at all. He’s an entertainer as I’ve said. As to Centre back, if there are changes Richard Stearman will come in, not Jake. We’re moving on. No sentimentality. Personally I think the present three are a formidable unit and will only get better the more they play.
Agreed. Nothing against Samir at all. He’s talented and he entertains. Italented players. However, everyone except Tufty is underestimating John Lundstram. He’s a better footballer than many give him credit for. He’s also a leader, having captained Oxford at a very young age. Tufty knows all this. He brought him in for a reason.
So was Nick Montgomery when he first appearedHe’s a winger. That’s so left field it’s out of bounds, mate...![]()
He said the same things about Brooks last season and was dead against wilder becoming managerHow can you say certain things with such certainty out of interest? I'm fairly sure at the start of the season you were very determined in the fact that Wright was pretty much done for us... and again, only sentimentality would bring him back into the side.
As it stands, he came in through injury and kept the shirt for some time due to the meritocracy which Wilder has in place. He had an off game and CCV took over. I see no definite reason why Stearman (who I do rate FYI) should be ahead of Wright at this point.

They are professionals and you are an amateurI always take my opinion from local radio hacks. They know far more about the game than me. You have to in order to present a radio show.
Sharp came off after 75 minutes and is our top scorer, why on earth would anyone drop him?I think the fact it's an away game rules out Samir due to him not being as defensively sound as lundstrum as mentioned previously.
I'd be tempted to go with bash in midfield and wright in the back 3 with brooks coming in for sharp due to the 3 games in 9 days and I just think his pace up front will cause qpr problems as they don't appear to have to most mobile back 3.

Samir's problem isn't replacing Fleck or Duffy, it's the emergence of Brooke's pushing him down the order. Could see Samir out on loan in January, possibly even moving on.

There's nothing ' sentimental ' about my wish to see Jake Wright back in defence . It's
simply based on the fact that he's a bloody good centre half, as his track record demonstrates , and that we almost always look more solid and cohesive when he's on the pitch.
Also, I don't see anything ' artificial ' about playing Bash in midfield - he's played there many times for us and usually does a fine job.
