Dint have dressed up fuckin mascots in them days. Team ran out 5 to 3, had a kick about till 3 the on wit game. Brilliant. Got Green un at 6 and on front page was a little cartoon of the games. Bertie Blade was our cartoon character. Can't remember the pig one.

He was, i met him at my 1st ever game v swansea in 87 i think it was. We won 5-1. My mum got free tickets and we met him upstairs in the south stand where he gave out bassetts sweets.Never saw him again though.

Think you might be right, after all these years i thought he was our mascot in the 80’s. Turns out it was just pr thing for bassetts sweets. My excuse is i was a kid and i didnt know any better ! Thanks for clearing that up.

It was a response to someone who never seemd to grasp that Google may perhaps produce results, but there you go, if you want to be upset about something that happened over 10 years ago then that's entirely up to you.
