If we're still up there what do we need to push on? Personally think Midfielders and maybe a CB?

Hold onto Brookes!

And Wilder/Knill!!!!

Coutts, Fleck, Basham, O'Connell, Duffy, and about 7 others. Need to be a holding club and not a Selling club like someone else mentioned on another thread. 6 years of hell followed up by up in one.

Wolves apart, who looked pretty good without really threatening our goal, who has really played us off the park. Nothing to be afraid of so far.

UTB.

From my basic understanding the Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire, Jamie Murphy money has not been touched.

I'm not fully conversant with the FFP (or whatever it's called) rules but look forward to the club releasing these funds to allow our ambitious management team to make the necessary purchases to achieve our overall goal.

What players or what positions are filled makes no odds to me. I have complete trust in Wilder and co. to spend the money wisely.

I do think they should back him with a bit of that cash,he still wouldn't pay over the odds for players which is a good thing! Can't buy success, just have to look at the deluded for that.

Brooks signs a longer term contract
We get another striker
Ensure that the season long loans remain season long

Move on where possible the fringe players that are not part of CW/AK plans

Club release plans to develop Bramall Lane
The Prince announces further investment into the club to allow CW to do whatever he fkin wants and which also includes an around the world cruise with fully inclusive drinks package

In answer to the OP, in my opinion we need to do the following and of those by far the most important is 1.
1. To continue to maintain and develop the squad/management strength and depth without disturbing the fantastic team spirit.
2. To move out Hanson and possibly Lavery (maybe on loan) and bring in a hungry, quick striker
3. To add the option of an out an out wide player, if Nathan Thomas is not at the stage where CW/AK think he is worth a place at least on the bench then bring in someone who does. V Forest and Norwich the option to replace one of our wing backs with a more attacking player would have been useful in attempting to unlock their defences towards the end of the matches and if things continue as they are at the moment the ability to open up packed defences might be a feature of the season.
4. To monitor central defence, sound out if CCV is a credible long term option from Spurs if not look to bring in a similar type of player who is.
5. Bring back Whiteman as more competition/cover for the midfield.

Hanson and lavatory out, Coal and another striker in.
Abit of back up for Coutts and Fleck would also be nice.

I'd still like Devante Cole. Only 2 weeks ago we were very light up front having to rely on a struggling Ched. He would give us something different to what we have and is young enough to improve. Especially under the guidance of Wilder/ Knill.

Aren't we still waiting for the Prince to open his wallet or am i being a little niave.

Wednesday have proved throwing cash at players doesn't always get you the gem you've always wanted.

United have spent very little and look at class acts we've acquired.

January is a totally different ball game to the summer. It’s no time for buying “one for the future”.
It needs to be someone who can come straight into the side and improve it or it needs to be for cover.
As I see it there are very few players available at sensible money who could come straight in & improve the team. There’s very few if any good enough in the championship & below who would be available.
Same applies to Prem where outside top six or seven teams the standards are similar to the championship.
That leaves old mercenaries which we don’t want or top quality premiership youngsters on loan who are always a bit of a gamble.
I’m going to leave it in the very capable hands of Chris Wilder in whom I have 100% faith because I have absolutely no idea.

This is tricky, partly because there are still question marks over Carruthers, Lundstram and Stearman. In some ways Carruthers, as the one who has been here the longest and had the time to bed into the Wilder/Knill system is the one who I feel is most vulnerable to being replaced/upgraded.

So:

1. Devante Cole, or his brother Levante.

2. Another attacking midfielder to replace Carruthers.

3. Another CB, not convinced yet by Stearman but even if he proves to be the right choice, we have to assume CCV isn't likely to be a long-term option.

As for Brooks, I think it is realistic to aim to hang onto him in the JTW if we have an outside chance of promotion but I think we should set our expectations for a transfer next summer, and plan accordingly.

I echo the sentiment that we need pace, without Brooks and Baldock, for large parts of Saturday and with a half fit Don, we looked a lot more predictable. We need pace whether introduced from the bench or preferably to start.

1st of all what is confused, the money there but chris wilder on numerous occasions has he doesnt want to spend it because its there

i think this injury crisis which i think you can call it considering 7 of the squad is injured then 3 games in 6 days does show we need more bodies & strength in depth because we lost to forest because of tiredness & the mistakes not because of oppositions quality. but as few have said anytime you can add pace to a team is always advantage

Can you go back to Jan 07 and tell Neil.

I have a feeling that when the prince does open his wallet all it will contain is an expired membership card for Blockbuster Videos and two well rubbed ha'penies.
