Wilder rarely puts out a "weakened" side but he's made it clear already that this is a game for those fringe players to show that they are worthy of consideration for a start. So, you can bet your life the likes of Lavery and Evans will be in the starting eleven and he's made it clear that Baldock will feature, so I believe the same applies to him, he'll get a start in place of Freeman - and if he does well then he'll be hauled off after an hour and he'll replace Freeman in the team v Derby on saturday.

This is an opportunity to let the likes of Lavery, Evans, Baldock, Thomas, show us what they can do. It's a chance to look at a different strike pairing up top. I think Billy will be on the bench and brought on if needed.
He's said Brooks and Lundstram will be playing as well.

So after the edgy but well deserved win at the weekend, we now face Premier League opposition in the form of Leicester. Will be interesting to what sort of side both teams put out, with priority at this stage mostly on the league. That said, Leicester should have a reasonable chance of progressing far in each cup competition and may see it as their best chance to secure European qualification. Very early rounds at this stage though.... Equally I'd like us to have a cup run this year, and if they rest a few, theres always a 'chance'.

Anyway....

Any team news? :)

Ched a likely starter?

Beard in the departure lounge?

Major changes or a few 'tweaks'?

Though I can't see CW fielding a full strength side, whatever players do come in are also likely to be well up for the tie on Sky TV. Although it's PL opposition I can't see a big crowd though. Just too early in the competition and of course on the box. Could go either way but I'll go for 1-1 draw and win on penalties - not that I want extra time (is there?) but I just think that's how it'll go.

Looks like Vardy will be playing despite limping off last Saturday. He must be that keen!

Looking at the ticket sales online, looks a shocking effort. I know it's on TV but it's a fiver for concession ST holder, should be at the very least 15k against a PL team.

Yes and no.

It's £10 for us non work dodgers and it's only a PL team in name. You can be sure that at best, Vardy-Pig, Drinkwater, Mahrez etc will only be on the bench.

If we are lucky then Demarai Gray will be on the pitch to rip us apart again, but I doubt the rest will be household names, even in their own households.

I find Leicester one of the most enjoyable teams to watch as, like United, they like to play on the front foot and get forward.I hope both Managers put out strong teams with just the odd resting as this could be one of the most entertaining matches of the season.
Oh,and unlike Saturday I will be there.

The FA Cup barely gets the respect it once commanded, you can put an argument forward for scrapping this cup altogether.

But then again it's an easy money spinner for the FA with naming rights, so I can't see that happening.

Didn't they also bottle the scrapping of u23 squads for the Check-a-trade trophy, which they said they were going to do?

Nothing game, nothing cup, backup XIs, 300 mile trip = No thanks, but respect to those that go.

That cock of a linesman from the Boro game is the 4th official tonight. Hope he copes for some tonight from the south stand UTB ⚔️⚔️

Shall I save everyone the hassle for the post match Evans reaction:

If he scores:

Pro - 'Told you so'. Tonight proved he's good enough, has to start Saturday. Will score for fun if given the chance. Scored against premier league opposition.

Con - well it was only against their reserve team. Doesn't prove anything, still need another striker before Saturday

If he doesn't score

Pro - well, he isn't even match for yet. He showed some great touches against premier league opposition and still showed more than sharp does. Has to start on Saturday based on that.

Con - so, another game where's Evans didn't score. Looked woefull off the pace and not up to sped against a reserve team. Proves we still need a striker before Saturday.

There we go, no need for all the threads now, got it covered.

Suspect that line up finally signals Brayford is off to Burton.

Hope there are no injuries tonight - Cant afford any of that back 3 to get injured

We might get bumped tonight. I'm assuming Freeman will be playing LWB?

I"m in the "I will be upset if we lose" camp

Sheffield United have a cup run, Sheffield United have a good season.

Or at least a good finish to the season when excitement of the cup runs kick in

Tunnel Bear ??
No. Live on ESPN in hotel bar where I am with a chilled Ten Saints and various mystified staff not having a clue about a Caribou. Tunnel Bear failed to work two years ago anyway. Turbo works great but don't need it at moment.

Thoughts so far - Ched and Lavery are way to far apart, need to be closer together... other than that its a bit dull really.

Why are you in Finland (yes I googled it☺)? Seems a strange place for a holiday. Or maybe not, I've never been.
