You could well imagine Tufty seeing him fill a gap in our match day squad. A hard man with talent (alternatively a talented, comfortable on the ball player who gets stuck in as wel.

And that isn't a dig at those wanting Coady - he'd be a brilliant signing, and at the moment in our position, the perfect one.

It's a comment aimed at those who think we have no chance of pulling it off. Don't forget we are in the same league as Wolves, have an equal or better infrastructure, a fan base that is equal or better. The only difference is that Wolves are playing shit or bust financially. It may pay off and last a few seasons, it may not. We on the other hand are building, progressively.

Absolutely. It's not his way. He named those two because Southend and Blackburn both announced the offers at their end (and that they'd been rejected). That's not the case, here.
