Difference is that Bolt can do 100m in less than 10 seconds... Hammond can barely do 100m in 10 hours...It was always British, so he's probably a stretched Dean Hammond!

Funny how people can have a different view when it comes to their own club and players. I've seen a few comments lately claiming that £5m would be far too high a valuation for this player, yet if we sold Brooks for a less than that people would be going mad on here.
Maybe Blackburn rate this player and want the best deal for their own club, just as we would for our best assets.
Or you can buy players like Solanke for 3m
But somehow Andre Gray for £20m...

5m, cloud fucking cuckoo land.
What disturbs me about this is that we don't seem to have any clue at to what the going rate for players actually is. It says that we initially bid £500k for this bloke. Then we come back with a bit over that. And now we've gone back with almost triple the original offer - and it's still a no. That's not usually how negotiations work. The first offer is usually on the low side, the second offer is usually "in the right sort of ball park" and the third offer is usually, "too good to turn down". But not with us, it seems. And then you look at the fiasco with Holmes and Leonard and you have to question if the problem is at our end by making unrealistic offers?
Lenihan is a player who has played for the past couple of seasons at Championship level. He's an U21 International and he's highly rated by their fans and considered to be a great prospect. If we want to sign quality players like this we will have to be prepared to pay the going rate. And I don't think we've actually understood what the going rate is for such players - or we've understood it but can't afford it.
Did you not know? The worlds leading transfer negotiation experts all reside on this forum. We must learn to listen to their superior, in depth knowledge.Makes you wonder how we managed to sign Moore, Baldock, Lafferty, Stearman, Carruthers, Lundstram, Thomas, Hanson, Clarke, Lavery and Evans.

We bringing cricket back to the Lane?Or you can buy players like Solanke for 3m
Slight bit of difference. We were selling to a Prem club, of course the money is higher.Exactly. Spurs would have never paid us that for Walker and Naughton would they?
We have no idea what the market rate for players is. Clubs (apart from us) are quoting ridiculous figures for players..... and clubs are paying it.
We simply can't compete.
There is no market rate for "players". There is a market rate for any individual player, which is defined by the usual market principles.
Yes agree. I hope we go back with a fourth offer today and get it sorted. I think we should do a swop deal, no cash involved, for Brayford. That would be lovely?Slight bit of difference. We were selling to a Prem club, of course the money is higher.
Additionally i'd say the money recouped by Spurs show they were the real winners in this deal.
