So yeah. Can we do it? Logic/reality tells me that the official line is mid table obscurity next season, enough points to keep us safe and consolidate, however. Heart says Chris wilder will be trying, the boys will be trying, he'll be getting them pumped for it and will tell them they can do it.

Thoughts.

Maybe its just me but wilder seems to have this aura. Don't know of any other manager who has inspired his team like wilder.

Nothing is impossible but if Wilder achieved that he would be in line for Manager of The Century never mind of the season.

I will be content with mid table next couple of years and getting some wins over the Pigs, the model we will be looking to emulate is Huddersfield, establish ourselves and then look to push on.

I reckon we'll have a good season, quite similar to how Barnsley did flirting just outside the playoffs.

Reckon we'll finish 8th or 9th.

Although to be honest nothing would surprise me with Wilder
And promotion via the playoffs isn't as daft as it sounds, although of course we're rank outsiders.

I'll also be content with mid table.
If we're anywhere near the relegation places I'll be surprised and dissapointed.
Some have said the target should be just to stay up
So finishing 21st would be a success but I disagree.

The target should be playoffs and anything in the top half would be a successful season.

Not going to be easy in the most difficult league since time began, and only having £32.74 to spend on the squad (well I say squad, we're going with 10 and goalie wag for the season), but, fuck me, it should be fun.
I can't imagine what gave you that impression, G2000? :D

Let's put it this way, if at the end of August, last year, we'd have been told that the Blades would be champions and there's a chance of mid-top Championship football next season, we'd have bit their hands off. I'm simply going to bask in the glory of not having to play the likes of Swindon and Walsall for a while and see where Messrs W and K can take us.

Wilder only wins leagues.

.... I think top 10 though.

I hate to break this to you mate but we've got Wallsall to play in the second week of August, I'll send you the Samaritans number through PM and we can also discuss other avenues to go through. :)

We or at least most of us would love promotion but for me the only thing that is essential is not to be relegated. Then we can push forward again and grow again.
It will be an up and down season i am sure but with the likes of Derby, Villa, Sunderland, Middlesboro etc coming to town instead of Southend, Oxford, Fleetwood etc its going to be a fantastic season ahead.

It's a new league for Wilder and a lot of the players, who knows how we will do, hopefully we can keep last seasons momentum going.

There's no reason why momentum couldn't carry us on to great things next season. But I'd be happy for us to stay up and beat the pigs twice! :)

Personally, I'd be happy with finishing outside the bottom three, having not really been in danger since Christmas. Under the current ownership, we're not going to see multi-million pound investments so we need to build year on year until we're challenging like Huddersfield did, maybe if not 2018-19 then 2019-20. Consolidate - Build - Conquer

.....as long as we AIM for top two then if we fall short, we should still be OK. If we aim for just survival and fall short? Well, you know the rest.
