Outgoing? Kyle Walker to move on...

If Iheanacho goes to Spurs as part payment for Walker, his value will still count as part of the transfer fee paid. Just because you pay using an asset as opposed to cash doesn't change anything.

Can we not just hack off 10% of Iheanacho? I feel that would be best course of action for all parties involved.

Don't think it works like that tbf.

How do you set a value? Sure we lost out on any sell on because it was part of a swap deal and I'm sure the same thing happened with vorm and Ben Davies

Well it does, say they got 20m plus player - they could say the player was worth 100k if they wanted too...That way the profit is only 18m....even if Ihenacho is likely to be around 20m in the deal.

Given Leicester and Man City were very close to a £25m deal I think we have a smoking gun as to Man City's valuation of the player. If suddenly he goes for £10m to Spurs as part of the KW deal I think we have a very good legal case for deliberately understating the value of an asset for fraudulent gains.

You never know...be positive!!

Levy might push the price up to cover our sell on fee!! As long as he clears £40m he will be happy

Didn't he do something like this with Naughton? Didn't he go for 'Free' and a youth player no one had heard of go for 4mill or something? Or was that one of those fake news stories that become fact?

I seem to remember being told 'levy said he would do everything in his power to ensure we didn't receive a penny'.

Levy wrote down the value of naughton in the deal which sold him to Swansea meaning that we got very little of the sell on, I still expect us to receive circa £3 million for the Walker deal.
If we have structured it correctly there is no way levy can get out if it.

And that means he reduced his agreed value for Walker when he inflated the price for Naughton. So we should do better this time and get back the money he screwed us for last time - unless of course he sells Walker as a part of another package and inflates the other half.

He wouldn't do that would he?!!!

If we have written a contract which protects our interests the value of any player included in a part exchange would be included as part of the overall asset value. It should be possible to at the very least have access to the relevant asset register of the other players club.

Did we ever get £10m? If so how much we got for each single player won't be far off the money we get from Walker moving on.
£11m I believe with the appearance based add-ons. No, I haven't got a fucking link because it was ten years ago but that was what was coming out of Spurs and reported in the local media at the time.

This seems to have rumbled on as long as the Ryan Leonard saga. I wonder if there is a forum somewhere where suicidal City fans talk about how sh1t there club is, how it has no ambition and how the club should just meet Tottenham's valuation.

Fans Forum - July 2009 - S24SU transcript taken by Foxy/Linz at the time:-

KMc: Well, the actual split is £6 million and £4 million. With £3 million for Kyle.W guaranteed with one on appearances and £5 million for Kyle.N guaranteed and £1 million on appearances.

So £5M for Naughton (not many appearances) is currently the record transfer fee received for one player.
Should be overtaken by Walker who was sold for £4M (including many appearances) if Spurs sell him for more than £15M and we get 10% of the profit. (I.e. £1.1M received if they make £11M profit).

I'm sorry but I need to see a link, BB. :)

Do you know, I don't recall you mentioning anything like this before....

Thats how I recall McCabe breaking it down when asked on radio sheffield.

I agree that as Naughton made less than 100 appearances so very possible we didn't get anymore money for him.

Walker will have made us the extra one million, therefore best case he goes for £50m (£46m profit) and we make £4.6m from the 10% sell on clause.

Only £400k short of our record fee received then (best case)

Hopefully going forward we'll be able to start cashing in big time if we are forced to sell our best talent.

When do we find out we traded the sell on clause for a bag of magic beans and our choice of loan players for the 2016 season?

Was on holiday with a Spurs fan very recently. Shat myself when he convincingly said they bought out all the sell-on clauses after a certain number of years (didn't know this was a thing).

He did some digging and it appears this isn't the case with Kyle. We will receive our 10%.

£50mil seems to be the concensus, not £55mil. Looks like we're on course for a £5million windfall.

£4.6m plus the original fee?

They did buy out bales fee from Southampton when they were struggling financially.

Surprised if they haven't at least approached us.

Bit sad that 10% of walker is more valuable than any of our other player atm haha.
