Bristol City fan with local information

hope you don't mind a Bristol City fan coming on your boards with some local info
Firstly hope as many of as possible can make the trip to Bristol on tuesday 28th october
If you can buy yer tickets in advance to get any discounts from your own ticket office
If you want to buy your tickets in advance please don't ring the Bristol City premium rate phone number.
The club charges for credit card bookings and also charges a pound if you want the tickets sent to your home
best advice is send a cheque for the amount and pick up tickets on the day
If you are one of those fans who like to keep ticket stubs of your away games no ticket stubs are issued at the turnstiles
either book the tickets in advance as suggested or purchase from the Bristol city ticket office on the day
We have a new ticketsystem at Ashton just put your purchased in advance ticket with the bar code
into said ticket machine
If you are coming by road use M5 southbound to junction 18(avonmouth) then follow signs A4 bristol airport
It looks the long way round but traffic in central Bristol is awfull
If you are coming by train
There are no mail trains no postal trains or even any milk trains any more and Bristol temple meads is closed from just after midnight.
The ground is designated not smoking
Bristol City produce a match day DVD of all home games cost is 12 pounds
with full commentry not sure of the postal charges
Casualty and Hobly City are filmed in the City don't ask me about either of the programmes cos I think thier both crap
Finally the block of flats on the right hand side as you are in the away end is "the" block of flats in "fools and horses"
The market scene where the footballers manaquins are cut into the wall are at the away end of the ground in the club car park
Bring yer camera and turn up early if you wanna take any photo's
Be prepared to be searched by the stewards.
regarding the food outlet in the ground its crap, staffed by agency staff whose purpose is to do as little as possible
KFC can be seen from the away end(two minutes walk, honest) and sainsburys store is five minutes
with restaurant
pubs possibly best one are in the cumberland road basin area novia scotia pump house
no booze is sold in the ground
buy your match day programme before you enter the away end
BBC Radio station is radio bristol which has frequenceys of 95:5 and 94:9 1548

Just merged your thread into this one as more people will be able to read what you've said :)

With regards to the pubs, where in relation to the away end are they? I know we went on a right wander last time and ended up in your home pub, The Robins is it? Luckily we weren't wearing colours or we wouldn't have got a drink!

use the pubs on cumberland road but at the hotwells road end

there are three pubs in the area novia scotia cottage and I can't remember the other one

Then walk to the gate I think the flood lights should be on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ask for directions to sainsburys super market that will lead to the away end

I know where the away end is fine, we went last year :) it's where the pubs are that we aren't sure of! :D

£25 for a tuesday night match at Bristol to watch Rob Styles write the game off?

F*ck right off!

I imagine our robbing coaches are about £20-£25 aswell.

Yeah there's hundreds and hundreds left.

We'll take sod all to here, unless the kids are all there in numbers 'cos it's half term

Squeking yanighted at the top of their voices, like the back of the kop, gangway G.

I hope we can do the same again to Bristol.

We are due a few more goals.

If im being honest cant see us getting much down there

but if we can keep it tight at the back who knows we might just nick all 3 points

I think it will be a defeat as to be quite honest we have lost at Bristol City every time in my living memory and i go back a fair while

You'll certainly get that KFC right behind the away end ;)

Any ideas how many your bringing down tonight, hoping its a fair few as it makes for a better atmosphere with the away end full.

We're setting off in a bit.

I don't think it's going to be a classic by any stretch of the imagination. A score draw is what I'm going for as I really don't think we have the fire-power to take control of the game.

As much as I like Beattie, I think he needs a rest. If he's struggling in our home games, I don't think a cold Tuesday night down in Bristol will exactly be his cup of tea either. If we're going to play Webber, I'd get Sharp in and around the box to try and nick a goal.

Hopefully... they'll ignore all I've said and Beattie will grab a resounding hattrick. I do doubt it though.

Which is why I said it ;)

To be honest, I don't think we'll be bringing many down. Your ticket prices are more expensive than ours!

There'll be at least four of us... (if I ever manage to change out of my pyjamas today!)

What are you expecting from the game? Surely you've got to go for a home win after our last dismal trip down there.

Well of course im hoping for 3 points but id say it really does depend which Bristol City side show up, if we play as well as we have at Ashton Gate over the past year or two then we can grab the victory but i think Sheffields good defensive record shows they are a hard side to break down so we'll have to patient and take our chances when one comes along.

Im going for a 1-0 home win.

"Sheffields good defensive record shows they are a hard side to break down"

Do you watch a lot of non league?

It did not seem liek that when they conceded 3 in the 2nd half away at Blyth Spartans last saturday.

3-0 Blades tonight.

Kenny

Naughton Ehiogu Morgan Sun
Howard Spring Quinn
Webber Beattie Stokes

Good result in all fairness, difficult place to go and a decent point. No goals against again and the best defensive record in league now.

Hopefully three points Saturday now

I'm happy with a draw as we never seem to get anything down there.

The defence seems really solid this year, but the big problem may lie with goalscoring and where the goals will come from.

Nice to see BV and Phil last night.

I can't believe this match finished with no goals scored and the Blades ought to think themselves very lucky that Brizzle were as shit as us in front of the goal.

We thought we weren't going to get down there at one point... there was a right blizzard round Brum!

Happy with a point anyway... there needs to be a serious look at what happens in the final third for United, as no one seems to want to take responsibility.

Styles was as shit as ever.
