Front Two?

I really like Lavery. As an impact sub he's already looking the part, but I think people are giving him more credit for his pace than what's deserved.
I think he's sharp, a quick thinker, and can explode into runs, but long distance I certainly wouldn't class him as fast.

I'm confident that Wilder will get us playing well enough that we'll have a successful season.

However, on paper none of those strikers should be prolific in the Championship. Even Billy.

I'd fancy Billy and Ched. Billy and Done worked well last season, imagine having someone with the work rate and intensity of Done but better in every other way.

If we have to go and get another striker we should get a tricky fooker like Brentfords "Jota" we have plenty of meat and two veg strikers we need a Jota,oh hold a minute we already have one he's called Brooks, surely he will get his chance

I would just love a Billy n Ched striking partnership that freetens all ot t'other defences in't league! Bangin em in for fun and scoring, err. 23 each in't season!

Think Hanson and Billy will be the front two for the opening match and after 3-5 games Hanson will be dropped and transfer listed. Then hopefully Ched and Billy can operate together and Wilder doesn't 'do a Warnock' and always play with a big man/little man combination.
Co op boy won't start. Clarke may well do but Co op boy will have to get his thermals out this Winter.

Bizarre signing when all said and done.

If the supply is as good as it was last season, there is no reason why this couldn't happen.

Add to which a hunch I have had for many years that the two would work well together as a two (think Cole and Yorke), then we might be in for a treat !

Really intrigued by this: there's question marks over all of them really. Interested in how Ched, Clarke and Lavery will do as they have little to no recent pedigree at this level. I think Hanson is a useful plan B at any level, and that Sharp will hold his own. Maybe we could move Done and one other striker on and make a big signing?

I completely agree. I really rate Lavery as well for that matter. It's also worth noting that he's not too bad in the air either. He's got a good leap and I've seen him win several headers against big defenders. I hope this is his season because he could be a big, big player for us.

To me quite a lot of out potential next season is driven by how Evans performs. If he can get back to the levels he's capable of (and I'm dubious about that) he's our best striker and could do really well.

If he doesn't perform we could struggle for goals.

I'm not convinced Lavery and Clarke will rip up the championship.

Sharp will scored but obviously not to the same level as in league 1.

Hanson acts as a plan b - which will be required.

What I would like to see is the players put into pairs, so they train together and play together, build up proper partnerships.

He's young and should hopefully keep improving but he's one of those players where his feet can't, as yet, always keep up with his brain. All too often he tries things which bounce off him. Still, I'm happy to have him here and hopefully with an injury free run he'll consistently show what he can do.

I think we will mix it up most games and use a front four

I expect to see two starters for an hour or so, with two staged forward substitutions thereafter.

Strength on the bench will be key to this.

Not sure why people are worried about the forwards we have. The only way to improve on what we ha e is to spend big.

Sharp and Ched are natural goalscoreres

Clarke albeit a big lad doesn't put himself about as Wilder would hope but he's proven he can finish.

Lavey has the pace and talent to cause defender headaches at any level he just needs some fine tuning.

Hanson whilst lacking in ability he makes up for in presence if we need to pre occupy defenders he will be able to do that..

You actually WANT Hanson to be a failure?

Has he shagged your missus or summat?

Not saying he will be a starter, or even that he will score a load of goals, but i think Hanson will be a very handy player for next season. Genuine target man to change things off the bench. There won't be a centre back in the league that will look forward to playing against him.

Ajax style total football with everyone taking a turn up top. Chris Hussey to top score with 7. I know he's transfer listed but this time last year so were Freeman and Coutts.

Ched will be biting at the bit to get this next season started. I think he believes he's on a mission to prove a lot of people wrong and his best platform is on the football pitch. His desire to succeed and make up for lost time will be burning inside him. I hope he's worked hard during the summer, plays so well in pre-season friendlies that Wilder has no alternative but to choose him in the starting line up against Brentford.

I've a lot of time for Lavery. Mentioned this before but that turn he made against Swindon in the Pass, Pass, Pass video would've fooled a Premiership defender. That superb build up could have come to nothing. It needed someone to show that final piece of courage and skill to create that killing pass for Freeman.

For me we need another striker. Hanson and Clarke aren't good enough at this level. No one really knows how ched is going to go. So going into the championship with only really one decent striker in sharp isn't the best start IMO

I think the main 2 upfront will be ched and Billy as long as they work together which I think they will. But I also think Lavery will make a big impact next season and be used as a impact sub when either of these 2 are tired or when we need to change games, I also think he will be used as a wide player as and when needed.

I think he will go with Sharp and Clarke initially but I can't see that lasting
My thoughts entirely. Clarke deserves it after his finish to last season but how long before he's out injured again? Evans will be replacing Clarke as sub in the first few games but will eventually be one of the first choice strikers.

I still think we'll sign another though. On loan from Prem. One who hasn't made the first 25 cut, but who is young and relatively unknown. So relatively unknown that I don't know who.
