I was trying to see if I could go twelve months without having a haircut, meaning I'd have to hang on until mid-July. However, I'm getting a bit fed up of all that shampoo-and-set rubbish and poncing about you have to do with a fine head of hair like mine, with even my mum telling me I need to get it cut - this from the woman who told me to grow my curls back every time she saw me during the 17 years I was giving myself a zero cut.
So I decided last week that when we got promoted I'd get it cut, probably a zero one again just so's I don't have to bother again for another nine months. I'm currently charging my clippers ready for action. Is it tempting fate to take them to Northampton tomorrow? Indeed, will the stewards even let me in with a set of Nicky Clarke's in my bag? After all, they may have borrowed Charlton Athletic's stewards for the day.
