Not heard anything on the 1 all draw last week except we reverted to playing a young side
We are now seeing the qualifying spot in their league firming up so next weeks games at Crystal Palace and Birmingham are important. Our final 3 matches are against Crewe and Bolton, who both can pip us for second spot, and the other Sheffield team who seem to have nailed down top spot.
The final game is at the Lane against Crewe and I hope we are still in contention when it comes arround
So come on get back nearer to the squad that thrashed Bristol.

Birmingham Thursday be interesting if Reedy and Brooksey can play as last week Wilder wouldn't let em play twice in a week. That's why they missed Cardiff game

I see they played in London yesterday and another fine win. Reed makes a big difference to this squad and his performances must be standing him in good stead for his future. where ever that is. They can both play twice a week more like they are needed for the first teams preparation. Be interesting to see if they play at Middlewood. That game will suit Reed.

I have been impressed by Reed this season. He gives his all for the 23s when others from the first team go through the motions.

Reed and Slater are excellent together. Reed is a great player for Slater to play along side. Reeds experience with Slaters passion is great to see and will help Slater progress.
Last year Whiteman and Gilmoor was a great help to Gilmoor as was Terry Kennedy helping guide young Semple with his first year at U23s.

I am sure these youngsters would be the first to say playing with an experienced player has helped them in a big way.

2 intelligent assists from Hirst. How's he doing?
I have seen him come on. He seems to being encouraged to add a bit of aggression to his play, a bit like Jake Wright. Big year for him coming up. I'm a bit on the fence but he is getting games I have always enjoyed watching young strikers develope. You see them scoring at the preparation but when put in the same position in a game they try to hard to score. The Academy seem to be good at relaxing them in the game. we have three or four that don't panic. A great asset. Lets see how Hirst comes on next year

I so agree with you on all that. Might be a role for Jake Wright snr next year. And George Long has been a big help this year in fact I think him playing behind Graham and Semple has helped his confidence as well.
