I'm extremely cautious, if it can go wrong it bloody well will do. I genuinely won't be confident until we've got a 7 point lead with two games left.

All it takes is an injury to our Billy and our goals have gone. We can replace most players with our strong squad but an injury to Sharp or Moore would leave us absolutely up shit creak.

said it when the fixture list came out, we will need to win or draw with Chesterfield ont last day and Ched will score the only goal.

I can't see 2 of the chasing 3 getting much more than 80 points therefore we should go up even if we limp over the line.

Having said that, if Billy gets injured we could be in trouble.
If Billy got injured I'd still be confident. Lavery could wade in with enough up top with Hanson I reckon.

Three injuries to key players plus the odd suspension and we'll be scrapping it out to the wire. Keep this XI fit and surely we'll just keep rising.

If you can't enjoy supporting the Blades at the moment, find something else to occupy your time. What are you a supporter of a club for? Or football for that matter? If it's just about the position at the end of the season, then ignore it all and have a look at the table in the summer. Blades who fret too much and talk negatively at a time like this are probably as annoying to others as Man Utd and Arsenal fans are when they moan about not winning the PL and European cups.

I'm just amazed that at this stage we are 7pts clear of the rest, uncharted territory this is. I'm a bit of an old bugger but I can't recall anything like this in over 50yrs of following United. Wilder should be knighted.

you've just hit the nail on the head pal.

ENJOY THE BUILD UP.

Happy times my friends.

It's United we're talking about, we'll probably get 10 points deducted because someone threw eggs at the Bolton coach.

I know owls fans are delusional
we have denial issues
we refuse to see the bleeding obvious

on reflection
which team has a 7 point lead with only 12 games left
which team is playing the best football
which team has the least top half opponents to play
which team doesn't have any pending court cases for any of its players
which team are not embroiled in an argument over unregistered player
which team is the bookies 100 to 1 odds on to win it
which team is the only one with a 2 points per game record

against
previous teams with different staff and manager have failed

If Millwall and Southend finish 2nd and 3rd respectively because others fall away we might just do it.

So far Hanson has 5 goals and Lavery has 3 this season, I would hope that you would be right but I'd be far from confident they could fill Billy's boots!

'ahh hello Mr Chansiri, this is one of the Gods of football speaking....we have a proposition for you! You know them Blades lot down the road from you, well..they have a magic man in charge who is going to win them promotion and we can't stop them and Billy Sharp scoring lots, but what we can do is take their promotion off them and give it to you because you can't buy your way out of the Championship even spending 500M and gates of 800,000 every week! The Blades fans will understand the situation, they're a disgrace to football anyway according to the Twitter scriptures and we know you deserve it more! As they say, it's the Blades way! So there you go Mr Chansiri, do not worry about a thing and leave it to us gods to sort it all out for you!'

:D

;)

No, but you are one to mistake msistake for mistake...

Well, that broke a three years without a typo record. Posting from an iPad is shit. Randomly autocorrects half your words, leaves the only ones that are wrong.

Aah, I love the sound of the head of a nail being firmly hit
Of course, but the team V Walsall had nothing to do with the team V Chelsea or V Wigan, or every playoff final and semi final in my life time.

Do I think we will not get promoted, in all seriousness, no, the team is playing well with confidence and have a brilliant manager and I have seen nothing in this division to touch them at present. This feels like the Bassett promotion teams if not better when you knew how we would play and most teams would struggle.

But, am i 100% confident we can't fail? No where near that, which makes it better because every victory for us and every slip up by others means something.

In all seriousness, I think we should win the league by quite a margin, but whilst there is a chance we won't and could end up in playoffs I will cheer every win because it means something. As others have said, unexpected things have happened before, who could predict Ched?

It's not about not enjoying it. We all enjoy it when we are winning and being top of the league. But if all those who aren't celebrating promotion just yet given given the disappointment of past seasons "find something else to occupy their time" our crowds would be cut in half.

Just because fans rightly point out that we can still be caught, it doesn't mean they are overly negative or in some way not a true Blade, as you are implying

Those on here who deny the existence of the football (and cricket gods) need to watch this footage.

Film by Evertonians of Liverpool's 2007 Champions Final Win prepainted bus ("We won it 6 times") - of course they lost!

Loving the football, and the positivity of Blades, however I don't feel it's neccessary to poke the Football Gods with "The Blades are going up" chant just yet.

I can picture it now, "The Blades are going up" wafts through the FG's Pantheon. "Here Bob, the Blades think they're going up... there's 36 points to play for. Muwahahaha, pass me that lightning bolt will you?" Bob duly obliges. "Now which one is Billy Sharp?"
