He wouldn't get a mention if he had no United connections. He's a complete nonentity.

Bladey Bladey Claptrap. It never changes. Sack a manager with a proven record of success after less than a season and bring in a former Blade on the back of 15 years of not much.

Only in S2.....
Like this GreasyChipBeattie ?

Nonentity. Fucking Bladey Bladey Nonentity. Read and learn.

If only we had a word for schadenfreude....

How's your 'nonentity mate' Tufty today, Pinchers?

Disagree. Chris Wilder has a lot of attributes needed to be a successful manager. It's often the not so known managers that thrive in this division. He'd be very suited to what we want and what we're trying to achieve, particularly in the summer. I'd be delighted if we got him in, first step is to get rid of Adkins though, which as you mention will probably only happen if he resigns or there's some sort of mutual agreement to part ways. It'd definitely be a step in the right direction.
Wow.

Cant believe I am about to type this. But here goes...

Barney - you were spot on!

For me Wilder has already won himself a big period of goodwill and patience. What he has done and the way he's done it already puts him up their heading towards legendary status.

However you can bet if we got off to a bad start (if we get promoted) in the Championship
Then there will be loads of Blades saying "Wilder has found his level."
"He's clearly a lower league manager and I knew he'd struggle in the Championship"
And "the board shoud show ambition, sack Wilder and bring in Warnock to rescue us" etc etc

Fans talk about loyalty from managers or players but what about loyalty from fans?
We've been terrible at defending crosses and corners ever since Harry Maguire left.
We bring in EEL and he's a man mountain in defence and instantly solves our weakness.
EEL is hailed as an hero. Many say "pay him £10K, pay him £15, in fact pay him what he wants"
So teams stop crossing it in and try playing it in the floor and then we see EEL struggle against quick tricky players and all of a sudden it's "EEL is crap.. we don't want him" etc
EEL deserves a lot of credit and respect because he played a major role in turning around our season but it's typical and sad that it's so quickly forgotten.

To be fair I was concerned that we were getting rid of Adkins too quickly and that Wilder would turn out to be Micky Adams2, luckily I didn't post that :)

Many, many months have passed, and whatever reservations I had have been well and truly consigned to the darkest basement I could find. Chris, Chris, the very sound of that name is enough to cause the hairs of optimism to rise on my neck. We have a leader, he has a plan, he has an idea, in fact he's the least clueless manager we've had for decades. We signed a winner when Wilder was appointed, and this season will go down in United history. We've turned the corner and are looking forward. About fucking time too! UTB

Mmmm.

Remember this gem?

I'm worried, all this talk of changing managers. I know it's not a beauty contest, and god knows we've had our fair share of nobbled fizz-hogs who've masqueraded as managers, but have you seen Wilder? The first thought was that of a Kia-Ora orange who's just been dumped in a divorce case with no house to return to.

And now he raises the hairs on the back of your neck.:)

Sorry Sir,but i do not know what you mean, modern technology

Cheeky twat ;) You will have noted my recognition that I accepted I was being less than accepting of Wilder, and now, well now I couldn't be happier. Yes, old Chris might have a mug worthy of a pitbull's arse, but c'mon, he's not employed for his catwalk status is he? We're the beneficiaries of his appointment, and now we have to hold onto him as we progress....for surely progress we will UTB!

To be fair to me (someone has to be) I very quickly and comprehensively revised that opinion and posted accordingly. I can't be bothered to find it but it's there and, which is more, I've since backed him with as much enthusiasm as anyone. Indeed, much greater enthusiasm than some Bladey types who were counting on him being a long ball merchant and thus restoring their Comfort Upanatem Neanderthal Tossers Zone. It spells what? My word! That's a co-incidence. Hadn't spotted that!

The underlying facts that led to my erroneous conclusion were substantially correct, though. However, I had underestimated what he achieved at Northampton and, not being hugely interested in League two, had wrongly assumed that his Northampton team must be hoofing it.

What about the seven "likes" I got! Where are they now in my hour of need?....

Davy Weir's Red and White Army....

I simple "Yeah, I was wrong" would have sufficed Pinchy...

(As was I, being as initially I wasn't happy about the appointment. Until he spoke so much sense in those first few interviews.)

in fact he's the least clueless manager we've had for decades.

......and that gentlemen, sums up why we have been in this division for so long. 'Damned by faint praise' and all that, but it is 100% correct.

We have had some right wankers and now a half decent bloke with a plan turns up (who fortuitously also happens to be a Blade), and he looks like a god!

Not your best effort.
Never mind. We are where we are and that's a pretty encouraging place.

Source?

ndeed, much greater enthusiasm than some Bladey types who were counting on him being a long ball merchant

Ah, all the S2 hoofers army, hoofwaffe and Diplodicous Dave's followers have now just become 'some'. Where are the tens of thousands of deluded bladey blades you are always warning us about? Only at S2, eh?

What about the seven "likes" I got! Where are they now in my hour of need?....

Two of them were your secret other accounts for when you get barred, one was your butler/batman and the other four hit the wrong button late at night due to the effects of aclohol. You are on your own mate!

A man with a plan (and a colleague) who between them have the ability to enthuse players, old and new, enough to buy into the plan and carry it out joyously.
Real man-management in action.
