Clearly in the category referred to as mature. Perhaps not vintage but been around enough to have watched Keith Eddy, Sabella, the great Senor Currie, the always impressive Alan Woodward, the little genius known as Colin Morris, Peter Withe, the filthy but necessary Hockey, the oh so poor Vinnie Jones, and a succession of players who saw this club as the final chance to take a decent wage. We've also had managers who were clearly ill-equipped to recruit the quality of player that could bring us relative success. To become a Premiership team and earn the right to remain there would be some achievement, well a chap can dream?
I think Unitedites love to see a team that knows how to play and does so whenever possible. We currently have a managerial team who appear more than capable, who have recruited players (with a few exceptions) who are comfortable on the ball, and can produce the football we all love to watch. Of course it's work in progress, but we've done well so far this season, and with our pursuit of promotion we've played some great football at times. One of the best seasons I can recall for many a year, long may it continue, UTB!
