Attendance against Scunthorpe

Ha, very similar it is Lokomotive Leipzig's ground. They play in the 4th tier of the German League which is regionalised but still get some decent crowds highest this season is over 6000, they once got over 12k when playing in the rough equivalent of the same league as Sheffield FC.
Nice city Leipzig, was there a couple of years ago and went to the stadium where RB Leipzig now play. It was just after they had been taken over by Red Bull and apparently, fan protests were a plenty.
Probably the reason we couldn't get in or anywhere beyond the big iron gates to have a look inside, unlike all the other German stadiums we visited that holiday where everyone was welcoming and anxious to please.

I'll go for just shy of 25,000. There will be 5,000 seats netted off just in case anyone is able to run the full length of the pitch, through the lower tower, up the steps (past the congregation of stewards) and to the upper tier.

Scunny o/s now reporting over 2700 sold
Should help to generate a decent atmosphere on Saturday

Just looked at the online ticketing thingy. 24 seats left in Bramall Lane upper corner. Not selling South Stand, BLLT or JS. Still look quite a few on kop.

Is the Lane end lower open for this match?

Yes, Scunthorpe will have a few in it like last season.

Last season for the final match of the season they brought 2,900 and it looks like being similar again.

Impressive when you consider that last night they struggled to break 3000 home fans last night.

South sold out Westfield corner just about full ,kop starting to fill up 26700 including ,3k from scunny

That's as I thought. So we'll have a couple of thousand potential fans not being too fussed about sitting on their own or behind a pillar and not being arsed going. In the meantime we'll have an empty BLLT, 25% of BLUT netted off and the usual corners in the South and Family stands netted off. If true, that'll be up to 5,000 unavailable seats. Fucking crazy, SUFC really need to sort this out.

Makes you sick
If the police or stewards can't be bothered to do their jobs (ie preserve law and order and protect the public) we should bill them for lost revenue

Doesn't happen anywhere else, the commercial and financial well being of the club should always come first and United should be putting pressure on and getting hold of these idle tw@ts and make them earn their money.

The Charlton cup tie was the same, over 2000 below capacity because certain people can't be arsed to plan it properly

Worst thing is, it's always United fans that suffer, the away team can have as many tickets as they like because United fans aren't allowed in certain parts of the ground within 50 yards of them

2700 - 3000 Scunthorpe fans could have been housed in the lower tier

I was also at the Scunny game last season and felt totally depressed at the time. The penny had dropped that we could be in league 1 for many more years.

Regards the match (like many matches last season) we played OK but a bit like like a pre season work out. Lots of good patient possession but far too much side ways passing. The thing that was clear to me was

The players were going through the motions, didn't seem motivated or bothered.
And for that attitude I blame the manager.

Not one player was willing to take responsibility and grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

Scunthorpe just quite ordinary, but very well organised, confident and playing as a team.
It was pretty obvious that it was only a matter of time before they would score.

When we went 1-0 behind I expected a reaction and for us to up the tempo and move out of 2nd gear But no, the players continued to go through the motions.

At that moment I knew the manager had lost the dressing room.
I don't mind lack of ability but there's no excuse for a lack of passion or effort.

The other thing that totally depressed me was the lack of booing and anger at Bramall Lane.
Even us Blades fans seemed to have lost hope and couldnt be bothered to even boo.

The turn around in less than 12 months by Wilder has been amazing
And for that it doesn't matter what he does in future because I'll always be grateful to Wilder.
I hope our fans remember what Wilder has done for this club when he goes though a bad patch and they think back when booing him and shouting "Wilder out".

I think you need to talk to south Yorkshire Police and the licencing committee, not blades felt

I don't buy that. I accept that SYP are not noted for sensible decision making but there's no way they can be the sole arbiter of ground closures on this scale. The licensing committee will be looking at inherent safety matters regarding access, egress, certification and so on and will refer matters outside the remit of the ground and SUFC to the police so you can't blame them either. The club will have a say on all this but I have a feeling they have been overtaken by events this season and never expected to be faced with a "problem" such as this. As I said before, they need to sort this out, it's fucking ridiculous.

Last time I went was 20 years ago, just walked through the gates of the old Zentralstadion, that the RB Arena is built inside, and just had a wander around including standing on the centre spot. The place was huge and held 100k when Lok played their Cup Winners Cup semi final there in 87

Still quite a few seats left in the Family Stand if you fancy taking your 'cherubs' along on Saturday.
South Stand completely sold out.
UTB

It really is time SYP were made to actually do what they are paid obscene amounts of money to do.
They are mainly cunts and haven't changed since Hillsbro/Orgreave.
Our capacity is north of 32k and McCabe should invoice plod for every seat we can't sell purely down to their pathetic restrictions. 99% of "policing" is done by fat minimum wage earning stewards anyway.

Agree with the minimum wage comment. I doubt the stewards are very different weight-wise from the spectators they are responsible for, and my impression is that they for the most part do a reasonable job. Without them, we would not be able to go to the matches.

I feel being morbidly obese is a pre requisite to lumber around as a steward.
That said,I haven't a problem with them. They seem to do a reasonable job.
The wankers in SYP on the other hand.....

Not bothered if there's less than 10k there so long as we win.

Not quite sure if it is totally down to SYP or whether some of the nobs who think its fun to throw flares might want to consider some of the blame....

The flare problem was before we were a Premier League club, and our fans were above the away fans all season during the Premier League season, also for a couple of seasons whilst in the Championship.

It really is quite simple.

If a game is not vital to us but very important to the away fans give them the upper and lower tier
If a game is important to United give away supporters the bottom tier only regardless of whether it's important to them or not.
