I agree things seem different this year, but please remember we were top in February 2013.
That season closed with that wonderful climactic defeat to those 'Monsters of Football ', the mighty Yeovil. That won't happen this year but equally no one has ever been promoted in February.

One game at a time gentlemen, please.

Still have nightmares about Yeovil, 0-3 at home and not one attempt on their goal

Yes, we were top at Christmas before a slight slump. But then, after winning 1-0 away at Bournemouth on Feb 23 we were top again, with 60 points, slightly less than we have today.

From then till the season end our record was DWDLWDDWDLLD. We ended up on 75 points, and in the play offs. We beat Yeovil 1-0 at home and lost 2-0 away in the Play Off semi.

to be fair , this team pisses on that one for creativity dominance and fitness
they never created 20 odd chances in games ,,, ever

I'll celebrate each victory as happily as the next fan, but I won't believe we'll be promoted until it's mathematically impossible for anyone to catch us. I would imagine the club players and management will feel the same.

some of our fans have totally forgotten how to enjoy the moment

you really believe this side can cock up
i WILL DANCE NAKED ON THE TOWN HALL STEPS ON MAY DAY IF WE DONT GO UP AUTOMATICALLY
with this squad

its the best Ive ever watched for consistently performing,,,, ever

Dead right. They should remember what Michael Schumacher said over and over again when questioned as to why he went mental celebrating on the podium every time he won a race. Bearing in mind that winning a Grand Prix did not constitute winning the championship, he always replied that you have to enjoy the moment, you never know what's around the corner. He's now in a vegetative state under 24 hour care. Stuff those of you who are staying in hiding until we are mathematical certs.

I cant imagine any fans at any club other than this one where fans would not enjoy being where we are

fuck the past fuck losing in play offs

this is CW s squad , nothing to do with the past failures
this is a team with a winning mentality and a great desire I never thought we would see again

can we lose it , well anythings possible
but can anyone really see us not winning 9 of the last 15

I cant

It's not only that, but if you look below us you've got Scunny & Bolton dithering and going south at a rapid rate of knots. Fleetwood, Rochdale, Bradford? Meh, either not good enough or too inconsistent. The only team I'd be wary of at this stage are Millwall but that only adds up to one.

Autos with 8 points to spare.

View attachment 23263 l've lined up some assistance to try and appease them footballing Gods. Don't you happy clappers screw it up for us now!

Every little helps.

That was a long drive back home, in silence...............

You aren't a believer in the game changing money appearing and leading to back to back promotions then?
No, not since the words left his lips. Game changing now would mean about £50m and neither Kev nor Prince can afford that. Onwards and upwards though UTB

Bolton have won their last two (I think) and look to have had a good JTW despite selling Clough. They could be our biggest threat. Scunny, on the other hand, are probably going to drop into the Play Offs.

9/1 is good odds for Bolton to take the title

lets see what the bookies say

looks ominous, how do bookies make money eh

We were 25-1 to go down from the PL in 2007, around March. I decided to have a bit of that, and put 50 quid on it. Bad move. I'll never bet against the Blades again, as I was racked with guilt for months afterwards.

Wonder what the odds are of us not making the autos?

If people are genuinely surprised that a large section of blades are keeping their counsel and not celebrating promotion ( that we haven't clinched ) in February then I can only assume they don't care enough to have felt the pain of the countless end of season fuck ups that we have had to endure for decades

As I and others have tried to point out, this season is different in that we have the manager & players to see this one through. I'm amazed that the doubters can't see this.

I'm 64 by the way and have seen more than my fair share of fuck-ups. 57 years worth and counting. However, on odd occasions the real deal comes along and this is one of them.

Next season we start from scratch by the way. That's my idea of one step at a time.

Who are these doubters ?
Not many people are posting that we WILL fuck up this great position but many are stirring the pot so that people like me who don't think we will fuck up but don't want to put the knockers on it are outed as being responsible for the club not being a major football force
Happens every time we win and to me it's worse wumming than when we lose and someone posts about how shit everything is

It suggests that the poster is a bigger fan or better man because they get behind the team more when in fact posting on a football forum has zero effect positively or negatively on the team the club the world or Donald spoiled cunt trump

It's a wind up and it winds me up

I can't wait for next Saturday it's my first home game this year and win or lose I'm going to savour the whole day from being back in Sheffield to seeing my mates to watching the red and white wizards taking the field

I fucking love sheffield United and I'm sick of being told how to do it by bellends who don't know me and how I feel

There's a massive difference.

Last time our manager was a pig. This time he's a Blade.

My view is enjoy every win and don't worry too much about what's ahead. I'd hate for my memories of a promotion season to be primarily of whittling and shitting myself that we might not do it. If we don't, we don't, we'll do it next season with Wilder.

bolton in financial meltdown, expect them to go into admin and have a 10 point deduction

talking to a boltonfan this morning, huge multi million pound bills to pay this month, big fall out between joint owner and holdsworth who is alledgedly the highest earner at the club, its a meltdown big time

Bolton are founder members of the football league - until recently a PL side based in Greater Manchester, where much of the UK media is now based. If they don't go up this season, this historic club could fold completely. A points deduction could wreck their chances of promotion. Think of the devastating effect on their fans.

I don't get this pre occupation with Millwall.

They've drawn four of their last five and are halfway down the current form table.

That they're doing well and could be a threat is no more than a myth
