I don't think we will have rejected £1.5m. That would be a high opening bid from Everton. Would like to think we could get more than that but if they offer that I think he'll be gone. Couldn't blame them for accepting that. Can blame them for allowing this situation to develop.
I fucking blame SISU

he's on a bad run of form though, be good to drop him for a few games. By the way in no way am I saying Moore isn't good enough, just a break may bs good for him.

Can't drop a goalkeeper who's having a good season to keep a young keeper happy,Wilder would lose all credabity amongst the rest of the players.
Hopefully Ramsdale is happy at present but he will command a 1st team place next season ,be it with us or some other team.

In the 70's it was "The Dirties" Who had our pants down, in more recent years it's been the "Spuds" and "Toffies" who see us as a soft touch. It's about time we took a leaf out of Southamptons book, and get top price for our starlets.
It's like "Bargain Hunt" when certain clubs come calling. Tell em to "Fuq Off" and develop their own.

The Bargain Hunt analogy is partly correct. But with us it's more like this -

How much do you want?

£4m

Can I be cheeky and offer £500'000?

Yeah we can do that

I'd tell them to get stuffed. Until they offer silly money. Which they have as they are premier league.

Imagine the scenario. Ramsdale sold. Moore gets injured. Long in. No promotion on the cards.

Yeah but fear not, we have the great Leon Clarke on a 3 year deal.

I will assume Ramsdale will go for the price of a cup of tea and a packet hobnobs and 15% of any future sale profit. Which means fuck all.

You're being a tad harsh there.

If he plays for England we get some Fizzy Haribos as well.

Looks like it will be Long who I don't think has done too badly for u23s. Probably time a few took their foot off his head and let the lad up for some air as you never know when you might be needed. Same for Clarke and a few others too

That's a very fair comment..............I do still have nightmares thinking about Long's early season form though!

I certainly don't and never have had my foot on his head and at the same time realise the abuse he was getting from our own fans was ridiculous but the lad is not good enough for us and we need someone else in pronto to cover Moore if Ramsdale does indeed leave.

The GK position is crucial and can either win you or lose you games, we can not go into a promotion race with an out of form Moore and a not good enough Long for cover, it will cost us dearly.

Agree. If Utd lose Rammy then so be it, but its clear that CW doesnt rate Long. On that basis alone , he hasnt got any better just by playing for the U23's. He could play til he is in his 40's but if he aint good enough he aint good enough full stop. Long should still be on his way irrespective of whether Rammers goes or not. We need another new keeper pronto. What about the Walsall lad?

Unfortunately and in my humble opinion, Long is not the answer, especially when the question is: who should be a capable, trusted and confident back up keeper for Moore?

Wonder what we could've got for him if he was properly under contract...

At least if Bournemouth have offered more than Everton are willing to then we'll be getting as much as we can.

I'd like to think we can reinvest a bit today but I doubt it. Not bothered about a new keeper though.

It's very disappointing that we've sold/are selling DCL and Ramsdale on deadline days with no time to reinvest. Could we not have got this one done earlier?

If he does go, the only crumb of comfort is that hes not off to Everton who seem to have got season ticket at shirecliffe and take great delight in picking up our better lads for pittance. They really get my goat. Still time for Utd to bring in a replcement keeper if they want, sonif they dont then it because theyve decided not too, rather than time deadlines beating them. Use the money and get a winger and a replacement keeper, or even a decent centre half. Dont think it will happen though.

I understood the idea behind selling DCL, and we've improved the squad using funds received.

Hopefully, this rumour is proved false, but I wouldn't be able to justify selling Ramsdale at all. What we don't need is any sale that might derail our promotion chase, and if Moore was to be injured / sent off then Ramsdale would be straight in. If Moore continues to make errors, perhaps Wilder would make the change.

And as Ramsdale himself knows that, why would he want to transit to Bournemouth U23's? While I'm sure he could be offered more money, the same may be the case at the end of the season, by which time we could be in the Championship and able to offer more ourselves. I'd like to think that given his time at the club he wouldn't want to go at the first whiff of cash. That said, I'd be mighty pissed off with SUFC if they cashed in now.

We can still have a keeper on loan after tonight's deadline.
Yes that'd be some solace Silent, although my concern there would be that any decent experienced keepers still available after the window closes would be in short supply, and any clubs agreable to loan out their younger keepers would only agree if we could guarantee them playing.

I find it hard to believe after most of the t's have been so meticulously crossed, that we'd take this risk, but we'll soon see mate.

Watched Ramsdale a few times, good young keeper, tall, vocal, genuine shame if the lad moves on at this young age.

That being said, good luck to him and he goes with my best wishes.

We don't really have a leg to stand on unless he signs a new deal. We'd only get a token payment from a tribunal as we picked him up from Bolton quite late in his development. Our best prospects need to be on longer term deals, particularly if they haven't been with us from the beginning of their youth career.
