I believe the root of the problem is the loss of Jake Wright at the back, bet none of us thought we would ever be saying this, but God we miss him, he's like the experienced glue that holds our back line and keeper together.
The fact that we can't score for toffee is also a worrying turn of events, but as we know CW is attempting to remedy that, the thing is, he seems to have turned all his attention to doing just that and let the defensive predicament lapse abit.

The muppets you should have a kite on about are the fucking plantpots posting we are as good as up.

Some of the same muppets giving EEL, Moore et al such a roasting at the moment are people who were posting two weeks ago about
"what players do we need next year in the Champoinship".

I've seen plenty saying 'cool it' and 'calm down', but no-one suggesting we are 'as good as up'. Names please?

Think I'm gonna give this place a miss for a few days....the nutters will be out spreading doom, despair and melancholy!

Message to all depressed souls kicking their dog, shouting at the wife and kids and punching hollow doors....get a grip. It's a dip in form, we will sort it.

See you all Friday.

My dad was more angry than me last night and he wasn't even there; all he had to go on was my take on things which roughly amounted to; "Poor decisions from Wilder from the start, some shocking defensive errors, and a big lump of a number 12 at centre-half who was bigger than the biggest rugby player and with whom we could not cope."

My dad kept muttering something about Fleetwood only being famous for Fisherman's Friend.

I'm a bit gloomy this morning and mystified as to the omission of Jake Wright but not panicking yet - I'll save that for March.

hard though it is to believe , teams that win automatic promotion lose games
our last promotion we had a run in february march where we won 1 of 8 games , luckily the derby

6 February 2006 Watford H 1-4 20,791 Ifill
11 February 2006 Plymouth Argyle A 0-0 15,017
14 February 2006 Reading H 1-1 25,011 Dyer
18 February 2006 Sheffield Wednesday A 2-1 33,439 Tonge, Akinbiyi
25 February 2006 Queens Park Rangers H 2-3 25,360 Akinbiyi, Bircham (own goal)
3 March 2006 Crewe Alexandra H 0-0 22,691
11 March 2006 Coventry City A 0-2 23,506
18 March 2006 Norwich City A 1-2 25,346 Armstrong

so 3 games is not a reason to throw all the toys out of the pram
disappointing , definitely , season defining ,,, nah

It isn't defining atall, it's just worryingly current as we have a tricky February and we seem to have gone off the boil abit, I'm sure we will find some form but I'd prefer it to be sooner rather than later as I'm sure you'll agree.
Let's hope Wilder can sort it and hasn't let Adkinsness creep in, cos alot of of the decisions of late have been mystifying to say the least!

There were plenty of threads up to and after the Southend game blathering about us being as good as up and which of our players would be good enough in the Championship, how we wouldn't lose more than 4 more games and plenty more.
Name names??
Who are you??
Inspector Morse?? Funnily enough I don't memorise who posts what .

Trawl the site and find them if you don't believe me.

Can we stop using the words "dip in form" and "blip" please. Shipping in 10 goals in 4 games picking up 4 points in the process is an unmitigated fucking disaster. The trouble is if you say it like this you are grossly overreacting and should shut the fuck up and trust Wilder to sort it out. Its getting like the Life of Brian on here with this fawning all over him and not being allowed to criticise him if he fucks up now and again. He's not the messiah folks!

To pick McNulty to start was fucking braindead. So is the insistence on sticking with a flatfooted back three. That second goal from Fleetwood (high ball over the top of them) is going to be de riguer for the rest of the season unless we change it. Coutts is slipping back to his pre-Wilder days and Lafferty should be fined every time he puts in a high cross when he's already inside the penalty area.

On the bright side Wilder is no idiot and will make changes; manpower, tactical or otherwise. He's the best manager since Warnock and he will get us out of this division. But please don't make us suffer with wacky team selection and the resulting inept display like we had to endure last night.

We were woeful tonight. Slow, uncommitted, unadventurous, lightweight, badly organised.
Too many players off theit game.
What possessed Wilder to pick McNulty I will never know. I only hope tonight was the last time he gets anywhere near the pitch or bench
Coutts and Duffy were ponderous. EEL a disaster until he went up top.

Teams have us well sussed and with no attacking pace or Plan B we are going to struggle.
Time to earn your corn Wilder.

But we have Carruthers and O'Shea to come in to replace them if required !

But we have Carruthers and O'Shea to come in to replace them if required !

And I welcome that. It dosen't change last night or the 2 games previous.
Let's hope it drastically improves us going forward.
We have lacked attacking pace for years so anyones sceptism has plenty of justification.

Really hope Hanson is our next Deano!!

Really hope Hanson is our next Deano!!

He wont be. But that doesn't man he cant be great for us. A few goals and a great help in defensive situations will help for starters, but a new Deano? wow

Be nice wouldn't it!

Simple fact is we should be beating these teams. play-offs at best if we don't find the formula we've had, we are good enough to take this league easily, we really miss Wright at the back and for some reason Wilder seems to have been reading the ADKINS GUIDE TO SUBSTITUTIONS?????
Hope the new lads bring the fight back!
These teams being the ones that are currently on an 11 match unbeaten run in the league?

No hope for us ife we can't succeed where their last 10 opponents have failed and the only team to have beaten them since mid November play in a higher league and beat them in the cup.

Come on United, ffs get a grip.

We are apparently, and according to many "the best team in this league", so yes we should be beating these teams!
We should also be beating the 10 teams that failed to beat the other also!
The fact is, although Wilder is doing a fantastic job, it's not all down to him, the players need to get themselves into the right mindset and play as a unit, play like "the best team in this league", and play together.
Now it takes time for players to gel and play as a team and were not far away, but to be beaten 3 times by Walsall, does that say to you were the best team in league one!?
It only says to me that we are on paper, but work at it and we very well could be the very best.

We are the best team in the league but surely you don't expect us to win EVERY match?
Come on.... that makes no sense.

The best team should finish top at the end of the season and we're still on course for that.
But there are always one-off matches where the best teams underperform, get overconfident and are just unlucky.

Wait until the end of Feb, then we'll know how accurate this "best team in the league" opinion is.

Also the hell does being beaten 3 times by Walsall have to do with it.
It's like saying Brighton and Leeds can't get promoted to the PL because yesterday both teams lost to non league Lincoln and Sutton respectively. So obviously both Brighton and Leeds are poor.

Any team is rightfully judged over a season not picking and choosing one-off results.

Made me think of the Black and White Minstrals for some reason . Hanson , Deane . Don't think so .

Your missing my point.
Nobody is expected to win every single match, or there wouldn't be any matches would there.
Same way that we aren't the best team in league one!, queue the dummies being spat out.
If we were we wouldn't have lost to Walsall 3! times would we!?
We're one of the best teams in league one, arguably the best on paper I grant you, but we play on Desso, grass n mud, not paper.
We should romp this league, in the same way scunt-horpe fans think they should, Bolton fans think they should and the fans of the other 20 odd clubs do too, I'm not arguing about people's beliefs, but if were the best and so brilliant, then why aren't we winning every game!?? do you see what I'm getting at?

Just a few facts...

We are currently the second best team in league one.
We may or may not be the best team in league one at the end of the season.
Arsenal's Invincibles didn't win them all.
Most promotion and even title winning teams usually have a dip or three during the season.
We've had unexpected bogey teams like Walsall before over the years and still gained promotion.
I've still not heard the word 'POP' used amongst fellow Blades, although I've heard that it's frequently used over on PorkTalk.

I hope that helps.

So what you've done there is come up with a few facts that actually emphasise exactly what I'm trying to get at, thanks for that.
And are you sure your in the right place if you have an interest in the south Barnsley lot??

Again you are right on the money, we'll done you!
