Someone is going to get a hammering from us, talking last week about the amount of shots we have had, the amount of times we have said we could /should have had 6/7/8, and the yesterdays brilliant display and again the amount of shots and shots on target and we "only" win by four! At some point we are going to put some of those chances away and hand out a hammering, what I dont know is when.

It's about time we scored 5 or more in a league game to be fair. We could have easily done it 2 or 3 times already this season. I hope we at least do it once. I think the last time was v Bournemouth in 2012.

in fairness, I think its easily possible but as others have said teams tend to ease of at 4 or 5 for good reasons.

Just watching the highlights back and Sharp's disallowed (offside goal ) looks suspiciously onside. Duffy's first does look to have crossed the line which I wasn't 100% on

Natural tendency at 4-0 or 5-0 for both sides to back off, for differing reasons.

So I wouldn't hold me breath.

PS When was 4-0 with so many shots on target NOT a hammering ?
Thats why I put "only" in inverted commas, thought that would have been obvious

Would love to be there to see us score 6 in a league game - have managed to miss all the times it's happened previously.

And this side is definitely capable of it.

you old get :)

Thing is there were no mobiles, no internet, no Score Centres on TV, forget how and when we got the score but I think my greatest ever Blades player Woodward got 4 didn't he? Weddings always on a Saturday in those days, ridiculous.

Old get I am, trouble is I wasn't anywhere near the youngest at that wedding!

Nine against Barnsley in the County Cup. Think Eddie C got a hat-trick!?

Mines 7 v Ipswich , 45 years eek.

Mine too - 4 from Woodward.

and just for the youngsters - some may remember that it was on YTV and our floodlights weren't that good in those days - I am sure the TV coverage was in Colour first half and had to switch to B&W for the 2nd half......ee by gum - them wer days :)

No means to watch those highlights a second time and study every detail. In many ways that was better, certainly for the players.

Footnote: Another ancient oddity. The couple who married that day ( Wednesdayites when United were at home ) are still together.!!

Another oddity , the day I got married we played Ipswich too , 2-2 I think Whitehouse sent off.

My old memory plays tricks but I'm pretty confident it was Barnsley because I worked there for a while and used to mention it from time to time....they never said "No that didn't happen" but it was .... well ...... Barnsley.

I remember about 12 years ago we scored 5 in consecutive home games (Rotherham 5-0 & Cardiff 5-3 I think). How many times have we done that?

7-3 versus Northampton
6-1 versus Chester

Amazingly, there was some booing around me during the Northampton game at about 5-2 up cause we weren't attacking enough

Hope you had it organised, away game no doubt.

As a lad I have vague memories of us beating Rotherham 7-3 at Bramall Lane and the kids' joke was all about 7-UP. Is 7UP that old a brand and did we beat em 7 something? Silent?

There's a bloke who supports Wrexham or somebody was featured in the press having backed them every game to win 4-1 or maybe 4-0 for years and being up on the system.

We won 4-0 yesterday, how many times would we do that again this season? Worth a shot? Or are we getting carried away? I guess yes.
