Robinsons not shit beer!
Still a family owned independent brewery isn't it?
Didn't travel well from what I can recall. There were a few Robo's pubs out around Tideswell where the beer wasn't great, possibly why it has a bad name. I remember being told it was a lot better in pubs nearer Stockport.

Have also heard this, but my take on the beer is from living in Stockport to

I'm also talking about the '80s tbf when a lot of pubs didn't keep their beer very well. There was a reason Lager became quite popular.

What does that mean? Junior Blades?

Aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds who have previous experience of playing to an elite level and who want to develop a career as a footballer, as well as those who want the business knowhow to break into the football, sport and leisure industries.

So college goers.

A gloomy day in Glossop, let's hope the football makes up for it!

1-1 so far. Blades took lead with a clinical finish from number 11. Glossop equalise with a header from a centre, poorly defended.

He did indeed, think it was his Grandson Peter who then became Arsenal chairman too - because when Glossop got to a Wembley final some years ago he arranged for the Glossop squad to use Arsenal's training facilities.
Watched Glossop twice in last few years losing at Wembley in the FA Vase. Just like watching the Blades!

Gave a fairly good account of themselves today, considering most of the Glossop team were giants as well.

Glossop have kindly sent a Team sheet today via email. The printer had malfunctioned yesterday and the programme editor was on holiday.

They didn't have to....but it was nice of them to do so. :)

WOW!! just clicked on the linky at the bottom of your posts to all those programme pictures....fantastic stuff!!

This one immediately caught my eye, never seen one like it!! Its epic!

Fairly good chance I've got that. I've hundreds sat in boxes from that era going back to the early seventies - late sixties.
Also got many many Swindon Town from the sixties (don't ask) plus scores of SWFC from the sixties- early seventies.

Now that is a lovely front cover for a programme.

Far better than the ones we have these days with some gormless twats face on the front.

oooh it could be....looks like it!

sadly TD, they don't make em like that anymore...for the nostalgic types like me and loads on here its a big pity!!

according to my friend sat next to me; David Ford after he retired, became a plumber and he put his advert selling his trade in both the Blades and Wednesdays matchday programmes!!!!!!!

confirmed by a chap just sat next to me on the library computer here before i saw your post lol (he's from sheffield believe it or not!)

Spent some time watching Joe paint in his small front room. One of my biggest regrets was not buying a couple of original paintings when they were offered.

I am happy with the signed prints of paintings done much later when Joe was'discovered'

Ah bit gutting you didnt jump on board right away!

Must be fascinating to watch him at work producing them...he crams so much into these amazing cartoonish landscapes, where on earth does he start when its just a blank canvas as it were? Does he use old photographs to work from and then adds his unique style and touch to make them look so fab?

When i first saw it as well i ended up thinking 'i wonder if he's slipped in a 'Where's Wally'? hiding somewhere' just for a giggle :)

Joe decided he should take lessons when he was young and skint. He was asked to paint some small object on a table . He realised he could do so much better, left before the lesson ended and never went back
