From an unbiased point of view, do you think they should stay at Southend or move on loan higher up the pyramid
I'll try to be unbiased! Both lads are still young in footballing terms, especially in terms of experience. Apart from the financial uncertainties of our club Zac and Kacper have gained invaluable experience of playing with full time pros in a very competitive and physical league. They continue to learn and grow in an environment that is protective of them and they are part of the family of players. They have also witnessed shit happening on the non playing side which gives them insight to the vagaries of pro football life. Players need to be happy to perform at their best, so, yes they could benefit from a move to a higher level, but I genuinely believe they would prefer to see the season out with us. That said they may be on their way back to you as we speak as our next two games have been binned through Covid in the camp. Next season is an entirely different proposition which we will have no input to.

I don’t think there’s much chance of you getting them again next season roots wouldn’t surprise me to see lopata either around our squad or league one next year brunt I think maybe league two. They’re by far and a way best served staying with you guys and playing football for the rest of the season though.

Also wouldn’t surprise me if this wasn’t the last time we send some youngsters your way though there’s the currie link and these lads have had plenty of football and development. We seem to have clubs we trust with youngsters we’ve sent quite a few to Rochdale the last few years as well as Rochdale picking up lads who don’t get a second deal here.

I'm under no illusions there Yogi, we never expected to. Ideally I would love us to clear out the remaining old guard that have suffered relegations galore and recruit new blood that wants to play. It would be great if we could help the de0evlopment of your youngsters too.

All the best Roots I’d imagine priority number one for you guys is to get on an even keel financially then start to build the foundations that would see you come again. All my best even if there are no direct links between us next year I enjoy the updates and the chance to talk football.

Cheers mate, things will be whatever they are. I'll still pop on here every now and again as it's always enjoyable to give you northern monkeys a bit of southern culture;)

Yes all the best Roots, it’s always nice when people who support other clubs come on here with the
right attitude. I always read what you post and now look to your results hoping you can pull your results
round. If I am ever down there I will pop in and watch a game hopefully you will have improved by then.

Woo hoo, and the embargo has been lifted. Can we now have your two for the rest of the season and sign at least another 5 decent players before the next one starts please? Well, you've got to aim high for the New Year haven't you?

Roots, you might be wasting your time, mate. They keep going on about something called cakebread & I'm still not sure what they're talking about.
And they still reckon that I like eating jellied or stewed eels...

What is it with you lot eating rubberised Thames snake?

Oysters nearly wiped London out back in the day, silly Londoners loved them ate them went for a shite flushed it down the Thames which fed the Oysters which fed the cockneys again ....................... they were eating their own shit and wondering why they were getting food poisoning. Still happens to this day when the storm drains become overloaded raw sewage is allowed to go into the Thames.

I think you’ll either keep brunt or he’ll be loaned out higher up the pyramid. Lopata however, I think we may keep as we have no cover if John Egan gets injured and with covid now becoming a big issue in football, we probably need lopata

I'm sure it's been covered but as both played for us in the league cup, isn't that them done? Either they play for us or Southend? Loaning up the pyramid would involve a 3rd club and I thought you couldn't play for three in a season? Unless non-league is exempt. Must confess I have trouble finding out if there were levels excluded.

Think they keep brunt as he can’t play for anyone else and we have good depth in attacking midfield. You make a good point about Lopata I’d imagine it’ll hinge on whether Hecky’s stated top priority of a CB comes through the door. If the Hill deal is done for example then no point bringing Lopata back now.

I’m guessing by the fact brunt was watched by national league and league 2 teams that he can move up the pyramid

The word in Southend is that Zac is on his way to Notts County, and Kacper will not be returning either. Disappointing if it happens, but Notts are pushing for promotion and if it does happen it will give him the opportunity to play in a team full of promotion chasing confidence. I wish them both well and many thanks to the two lads and your club for the loans to us. Both sides benefited greatly from the exercise.
