Mine was the 2-0 Whitehouse and Deane game. Also had the pleasure of the say game on the LL upper tier. Brilliant as we were such underdogs.

Mine was probably in the County Cup. I missed the 70-71 games, and we didn't play each other again in the League until 79-80.

1-1 draw, league cup tie (2-legged?), sometime in the 80s, don't remember when exactly.

For many years I'd laboured under the impression that I'd seen the despicable Curran score for us in it, in one of his earliest games here. But found out last year that, no, in fact he scored for them.

Remember virtually nothing of it, other than it being a very disappointing, low-key atmosphere (which may have been because it was, or because of a depressive episode causing me to be a bit "numb" to it). Anyway, it left nowt in the way of lingering memories tbh.

August 1980. Hatton for us, Curran for them

Q...Is it possible to forget your first experience of a 'Sheffield Derby' especially at BDTBL?
A... No.

I remember mine as though it was yesterday. All I wanted was a win, no matter how many by or who scored them, a win. To anyone who's experiencing their's this Friday, enjoy every second of it, from getting there to going back home, hopefully with a victory under our belts. Then in 37 years time, you can write on S24SU about your first 'Sheffield Derby' experience.... To those who have experienced more, I don't need to write about the emotions this one football match ignites...

Anyway, mine was......

05 April 1980

1-1 - MacPhail to make it 1-0 just before half time, scored at Bramall Lane end, sat in BLUT.

This game was also my 1st derby game at BDTBL,I was on the kop and was 15.

September 1961 (1-0) - I was 13 and enjoying my first season following the blades. As I lived in Heeley Bottom becoming a Blade was no brainer - just a stones throw from BDTBL. We did the double over 'em that season. Hoping for a repeat this time. I'll be watching the match from Melbourne.

Ditto Lydon went hoping we,d avenge my first derby experience the previous December . Went in the Railway Club & had a pint of lager as a 12yr old lol , no wonder I’m partial to a pint now! With my older brothers , their mates and dads .
still remember it like yesterday frightening to think it’s 38 yrs ago

1-0 up through MacPhail , Kenworthy’s playing with a broken toe how many players nowadays would do that ?? Top lad TK ....the gypo ( sorry I believe they call them travellers now ) treading on the said toe in front of ref and him doing fuck all & he had to go off & then that twat equalising .
There was scrapping on the Kop & I had to wait another 10yrs for the Roast Pork on Sunday win when Dane & Delano did the honours and I returned all the shit I’d had off the Oinks I know 10 fold !!

Can’t wait for Fri now , I do t give a flying fuck if we win or how we win , I came from a generation with the pigs had the upper hand up to my early twenties & my hate for them has never diminished.

Come on lads get out there & do the business .... COYRAWW

16th December 2000 1-1.

I remember virtually nothing about it, not even the goals.

Battered them - we hit the post and the bar.

They scored a lucky deflected free kick. When they were celebrating one of their fans ran on to the pitch and in front of Simon Tracey - Tracey volleyed him across the shins and sent him flying.

Weirdly, my first derby experience was in the Away end at Hillsborough when we drew 0-0 in 2001. Nearly got my head took off by a stray shot from a Pig.

My first Bramall Lane Derby experience was back of the Family Stand watching Oh Lord Michael Brown smashing a volley past Pressman. Simply lovleh.

My first was the same game aged 9. I got accidentally hit in the face by the bloke next to me celebrating MacPhail's goal. Conclusive proof that blades fans do beat up the vulnerable including small children.

My first was 0-0 in 2002. The only thing I remember about it is how the game fell so far short of the excitement and anticipation in the build up.

2-0 in 91. I'd never experienced an atmosphere like it. First experience of the feeling sick, worrying they would score every time they attacked, suddenly hating people for wearing blue.
What is it with derbies and being convinced that they’re going to score every time they get over halfway?

1st at BDTBL was the 2-0 Whitehouse and Deane. Also attended the away game earlier that season on the friday night and sat in their south stand with my old man and my cousin who's a pig, i was only 5yrs old, i remember more of the away game than home just because i was in awe of the away end, all the balloons, flags and the noise the Blades fans made that night will live long in the memory!

I grew up away from Sheffield and missed the 1979 encounters, something I strangely regret:confused:

So my first BDTBL derby was the 2 nil win and I was then fortunate to be at the 3-1 win at Hillsborough, which was nice:). My first derby though was the Zenith Cup game, 2nd round I believe when 32,000 went to Hillsborough to see us lose in extra time after Bob Booker had scored a late equaliser. I was in what was later to become the Chlamydia Corner stand:rolleyes:

Should say later that season not earlier!

Mine will be in a little over 2 days time.
Finally plucked up the courage to go & regretting it already :)
