Pig player Johnny Quinns testimonial at the Sty, about 1972. About 3 times the number of Blades than Pigs there. Walked back to town with my ex girlfriends nephew on shoulders. Ted Bear and his cronies on the other side of Penistone Rd giving it big until they noticed mob of Blades coming towards them. Think Ted had bit parts in Last Of The Summer Wine, stage name Tubby Johnson.
Dont think Johnny Quinn had a testimonial match? He did arrange Charity matches and his team was "Johnny Quinn All Stars"

First: 2-2 Beattie equaliser, didn’t have a season ticket until 06/07 so never got to one before that.

Worst: 2-1 under Robson when they did double.

Best: 3-2 at lane when we were 3-0 up in the first time. I was only about 15 but I vividly remember all the pigs in the away end with their heads in their hands at half time.

The first I can remember was the 2-0 win in 1991, with Deane sticking it through Chris Woods legs. Best has to be the 2-4, just for the sliding doors moment and how they thought it was going to be an easy win. Worst has to be Wembley in the FA Cup semi when waddle scored. But I was a young lad then, and between now and then, even though I know they have once once or twice, I have no living memory of walking out of a football ground knowing they beat us other than that one game.

First September 1966 2-2 at the Sty. We were 2-0 up and they pulled it back to 2-2. First away game also. Neighbour took me with her teenage son and his mate. I was 10 years old.

First time on their Kop. There were Blades all over the back of it. Pigs were below us. Problem was Blades were throwing anything they could get their hands on including ripping off parts of the wooden stand. The old pennies hurt when they hit your head. It was a mixture of fascination and fear. The worst part was the crowd swaying down knocking you to the floor causing you to gasp for air.

First experience of seeing fighting at a football game. It just happened at the end between a small group of Blades and Pigs as the Kop was being exited it was soon over.

Worst had to be the no show semi final at Wembley. After all these years I still can't get my head around Blades travelling down on joint coaches with Pigs. It just didn't feel like a Derby game more a Sheffield day out in the capital.

Best without doubt Bobby Davison day. Thats the result that hurt them the most and still does to this day. It was the result that avenged Boxing Day. They were riding high one of the best teams in the top division. They were in with an outside chance of the title and looking like at least runners up. We were playing at the top table of English football not a Christmas non event in the lowly third division. They weren't expecting us to beat them again after we had done in November. They were all talk about what they would do to us including Carlton Palmer. The rest on a wet night at the Sty is history. We played them off the park. Palmer was in Paul Rogers pocket all game. True to form they tried to deflect the result onto their goalkeeper Woods. He was at fault for Bobbys first goal but the so called title contenders were embarrassed that night on national TV. Our six points that season ensured they only finished third. Agent Bassett had struck again.

For those of us who were at the Sty in 79 and witnessed both games in the double in the top flight, 2-0 at home and the Bobby D match at the Sty, exorcised those demons.
Since then, they have had a double once but mostly we have bested those fuckers.

Late to this...

1st 93 Wembley
Worst see above
Best (live) yesterday. Overall yesterday or bouncing day. But taking my daughter yesterday would sneak it. When 3rd went I she went ballistic...luckily she helped me up when I went flying over row in front

I vaguely recall the 2 nil 3 1 season but bit young to appreciate it fully.

First ZDS 3-2 defeat

Worse Wembley

Best 3-1 March 92

I do feel we have had some proper opportunities to give them a right hiding down the years while they've been shit and never taken it 2000-2003 in particular, then being 3 up in 08 and not putting em to bed
Half time when we were 3-0 was one of the best experiences I've had as a Blade. I was in the Family Stand with my best mate and our dads, it was absolutely bouncing, loved it. Would've been an all timer if we had concentrated in the 2nd half.

My first was 1964 we lost 2-3 at home, earlier in the season we had won 2-0 at Hillsborough and my Grandad/uncle/ cousin had come home to Chap in great spirits. Before then I’d been mainly to reserve matches. But now I was hooked. Sixty plus years later do I regret it?? No. Not one bit. Worst? BDM. Best? Well, Sunday was good we watched at the Cremorne. The 4-2 was good too but just pinching it was Feb 1992 3-1 to us at the Sty. Bobby Bobby Bobby Davison

Wasn’t actually there but Boxing Day was the first I remember. It seemed like every time Radio Sheffield cut to Hillsborough for an update another goal had gone in.
Wembley was the worst experience. Enough said.
November 1991 was the most joyful I have been at the Derby. Never celebrated a goal as much as the one Dane scored.

think that was january 65 eskimo we were 2 - 1 up at half time and lost 3 - 2 the game in september 64 we won 2 - 0 birchenall getting both goals we played in all white that day

First: Boxing Day 1979 - the first time in my life I was more excited for December 26th as opposed to the 25th.
Worst: Boxing Day 1979 - as we shuffled quietly out at the final whistle, one Blade summed up our gallows humour when saying to his mate: "We've had to watch that rubbish, and then we've got our Auntie Ida coming 'round this afternoon!"
Best: Bobby Davison - it rained apparently; I never noticed.

Boxing Day 1979 was my first too. I was given a ticket as a birthday present by a family friend (my birthday's earlier in December).

There are only three things I remember well.

Flags on houses on the way there.

Mick Speight being stretchered off.

Mark Smith scored the fourth (there was a Mark Smith in my class at school at the time).

I've never been back to Hillsborough.
