My first competitive Sheffield derby match was the 3-2 win in October 1970 and since then, I have attended every competitive Sheffield derby matches apart from the 1-1 draw in April 1980 (I was playing in a football tournament at Kortrijk in Belgium) and the 2-0 defeat in the League Cup 1st round 1st leg in August 1980 (I was playing cricket that day).
Was that League Cup tie a two legged affair ? Or is my memory letting me down ?

I couldn't make the 1970 game due to me pissing about and not being born till tea time.... don't think my dad has ever forgive me yet.....

My first derby was 23rd October 1993, aged 9. It finished 1-1 at Bramall Lane. Glyn Hodges and Carlton Palmer scored.

I didn't go to the reverse fixture in January 1994, or the League Cup game that followed in November 2000.

Since 16 December 2001 game, i have attended every one apart from the 3-2 in September 2009 as I was in Mexico

Yes, for the 1st round in seasons between 1975-76 and 1984-85. We played two legged matches against Doncaster in 1979, Wendy in 1980, York in 1981, Hull in 1982, Bradford City in 1983 and Peterborough in 1984.

I don’t like them. Due to some personal reasons i’m always welcome in their directors area, i’ve only ever used the offer for derbies. Sat next to Chansiri at the last one. Man was a nervous wreck. His breathing into a bag irked Howard Wilkinson who was sat in front.

My first derby too

I haven’t been to all of them but I have been to the two you missed . I missed the 0-0 draw in the same season as the 3-2 home win and the 1-0 away defeat in div 1 - all the rest I have been to

The second round was also two legs from 1979-80. The first two rounds remained two legs until the 2000-01 season (when we beat Lincoln and Colchester and lost 2-1 at Hillsborough in the 3rd round when our finishing cost us a game we dominated)

We tore them a new arsehole that night as we did in the subsequent nil nil at their place the season after, I also think we were all over them in 02 03 when we lost at their place

My first derby was the 2-0 win in 1991. I was 13-years-old, went with my dad.
Fast-forward 33 years and this Sunday it will be my daughter's first derby and by a quirk of fate, she's also 13-years-old.
Here's hoping for a similar result!

Always makes me curious as to who has the longest run of attending our games, home and away.

The dedication and commitment of some people is absolutely laudable.

My Uncle hasn't missed a game since 1980 home /away/ cups (except for lockdown) he's also been to most UK friendlies in that time as well.

That's unbelievable! I believe you of course, but that blows my mind completely.

How do you not miss a game through illness, injury, or whatever, never mind the cost and commitment to do that.

I tip my hat to that man!

My first derby too Ancient. And also my first ever match, on my birthday too. With Dad, Sister and rest of family who are all Wednesdayites, stood on Hillsboro Kop. But soon as I saw Birch score two, I saw the light and decided I was a Blade. Hence my forum name..........
