Unfortunately, with United we all know the script. Third time in recent years I've bet on our imminent demise in the most important of games and won - I did think after they'd missed their first three penalties that at last I'd lose some money.

I'll pick up my winnings this week safe in the knowledge that my latest round of heartache will have been paid for (financially) by knowing United's script only too well!

Absolutely,many of us could have written the script. I'd started making notes before the derby match at the sty when everyone was getting carried away and forgetting the history and culture of our club. They were simply setting us up for the fall.

And it went exactly as I'd imagined.

I don't really care that we didn't go up. I am just as happy watching United in the third division as the first.

And I'm not bothered that we lost at Wembley yesterday. We'll probably only win one big match at a neutral venue in my life (I've done well over 30 years watching us now) and I didn't want it to be yesterday.

A half empty ground for a prize that I can take or leave it didn't feel like most of the other big games when it really mattered.

I'm glad we are saving it up for an important big game - at least I assume that's what we're doing.

As for Wembley, I'd prefer it if we could give it a miss for a decade or so I can build up the myth again.

Like most of us I expected to lose yesterday but when they missed their first 3 penalties, I actually thought that it was going to be our day.

Fair point K. Felt others didn't support him though.

Particularly sad at throw ins. Monty positively stayed 10 yards away from the thrower at least!

Monty was Monty played defensively looked like a liability at times and pretty much did the same as Doyle. Mind you it doesn't take Hawking to work out that if you play those 2 together in midfield you can expect fuck all in the way of service to the strike force.

I am with a few others my hear sank once I saw that Macca was not in the 11 or the bench. I thought we might of at least gambled with McAllister in extra time.
