I remember Wilder once said to a RS interviewer some time ago something like 'If you were to go up for a header with me, you wouldn't be winning it. 100% you wouldn't'
I got the distinct impression he was talking about absolute commitment, absolute determination, and personal pride.
When Ings put a great cross in, Cannon looked like he was more concerned about maintining the look of his hair than thundering in to get to the ball before the defender, taking him out at the same time if necessary.
We are a million f*****g miles away from that, not just with Cannon, but with pretty much the whole team.
'You've got to DIE to get 3 points' a manager once said, who demanded that level of effort and commitment ....and got it.
With that one pathetic 'effort' to get to the header in, I'd fine Cannon a week's wages and if that didn't work, dump him in the u-23s.
We need players to give back of themselves enough to justify their ridiculous pay packets.
