Writing McBurnie off after starting in 5 games

That must mean your right then. If you ever bothered to read anything before you replied in a juvenile, aggressive, or unhinged way, you'd see that on more than one occasion I'd pointed out that I desperately want Mcburnie to be a success, not a failure. You on the other hand wont even contemplate for one second that he might not be the player we'd hoped for and even given time might never be the player we'd hoped he be. Go on try it. Admit there's a possibility you could actually be wrong.
It certainly means my point resonates with more people than you. Wonder why that is.

Desperately want him to be a success? Really? Funny way of showing it

Because I don’t think he will be, so why would I try my hardest to think that way?

He has done, turned up for the Arsenal game with a sensible haircut and a tidy beard.

Think people need to realise we're in the Premier League now, a £18.5m striker is expected to be an 8-10 goals striker at best.

It's really not a lot of money, that doesn't fit with a lot of our world views but it's the truth in the top tier.

Some teams have to take the hit on £50m players.
Still needs to pull his chuffin socks up. He looks like the kid who's turned up for P.E without his own and had to delve into the box of grotty possession's long forgotten that have not seen washing powder and hot water in quite some time.😵 :D .

But who can we lynch now Lunny is off the hook?
It's always going to be a case that people expect better from certain players at certain times. This isn't exclusive to SUFC. My feeling is that on an open forum such as this you should be able to criticize players if you can back it up, without being called out as some sort of traitor or being accused as looking for a scapegoat. I've stated before that we're riding high in 5th position in the premier league. Why would anyone need a scapegoat?

I agree, and my post was purposely OTT. We do need to be supportively critical, especially on a big spend (in our budgets) and also balance that with a bit of patience and belief.

I think we're supposed to post on here as if our players are highly sensitive souls who read every word.

I doubt our players check forums at all to be quite honest, my reasons for sticking up for players whenever I do so certainly isn’t because I worry their little feelings might be hurt by some words on the internet

Fair enough, but it does feel like the unwritten guideline on here.

McBurnie is 23 years old ffs. Maybe we paid over the odds considering what we've seen so far but there's still plenty of time for him to develop.
And that is exactly the point people are missing.
We're in the PL and you don't get time to let things develop!

If ever a player didn't deserve a song it's McBurnie. I cringe when I hear it.

We even have the likes of Basham and Fleck who barely have one!
Flecks song is class, just a bit wordy for some of the simpletons.

Lets hope CWAK do though, so they know what to do. ;)

The obsession some fans have over McBurnie is abit weird. How many games have we played? God help when we lose a couple games ffs

McBurnie's song is utterly abysmal. Worst song we've got.

As for his performances, something needs to click, I don't know what, but you don't score as many clinical and varied finishes as he did last year without being a bit of a player.

Maybe we aren't deploying him in the right way?

You are correct and regardless of money paid he's nowhere near the finished article.

My concern is his physical condition and attitude. Neither look particularly good. There's no reason why a 23 year old professional footballer shouldn't be able to put a shift in for 45 minutes without looking like he had 10 pints and a dodgy curry the night before.

Not off the hook for me, yet. With Lundstram there was always the sign of a player there if played in the right position and he stopped trying to be a mix of Beckham and Ray Wilkins. We will see if he lasts the season and then he might be off my hook. McBraindead isn't in the same class as Lundstram and that says a lot.
